Orochon Ramen reviews
26Some of the best authentic ramen you can buy in California, with options to add spice and great service this place is a must.
Great broth and good service, not much else you can ask for in a ramen restaurant. With multiple spice and flavor options it's a great spot for date dinners and friend lunches.
I honestly enjoyed their dishes and service, good location nearby to my residence. The staff members are always kind. Would recommend to others.
One of the best ramen houses in LA… i even prefer it over the place around the corner… you know which one.
Delicious! My friends came into LA for the first time and they love ramen! This is better than Jinya and probably our new favorite place!
Man vs. Food brought me here back in 09 and I been coming back ever since. Great ramen cold beer great service.
The environment is really welcoming and clean which allows for enjoyment of the excellent food, what stood out the most was the outstanding hospitality of the waiters. Great overall experience.
If you want super spicy ramen challenge, this is the place. Other than that I don’t like any food from their kitchen. Worst Miso ramen broth. They don’t have Chachu in the ramen, just few little pieces of pork. Never go back.
I always get ramen here to and from school when going back home from breaks. I LOVE this place. Sometimes they can get a bit busy so there's a wait but it is truly worth it. I always get the BEST chashu pork when I come here. If you do eat here I would recommend getting more noodles as there is more broth than noodles per bowl
The Special 2 is no joke. I can handle pretty spicy food, but this is not only very spicy but also a huge volume of broth. Couldn't finish, then proceeded to the restroom to vomit up half of what I did eat. Tasted good before all that.
Very quick and friendly service. I initially came in to do the special 2 challenge which was on man vs food. I chickened our and did special 1 instead.
FYI: I EAT HOT SAUCE WITH EVERYTHING. I HAVE AN ENTIRE SHELF OF MAYBE 15 DIFFER HOT SAUCES AND EAT JALAPEÑOS ON A REGULAR
I was having a hard time with special 1. But the ramen was still delicious without the lost of flavor trying to make it spicy.
I will def be coming back whenever I’m in town
Their service went straight down hill. This place was once one of the best ramens in DTLA. Food is okay. It's salty.
The bad part is the service. When we went in, a young server directed us to a table. We ordered a curry cheese gyoza dish and other dishes. The food did come quickly. The place was relatively slow (maybe 30% occupied), but our gyoza didn't come for a while.
When I tried a piece, I didn't taste any curry nor cheese. So I stopped the waiter and asked,
"is the curry cheese gyoza supposed to taste like this?
He said
"Oh no, it is not curry cheese gyoza, but it's regular gyoza, we are out of cheese. "
I went "What the f@#k? " (in my head) "
They didn't say anything when we ordered, nor they didn't come to our table to let us know they are out of it. They just swapped our order to regular gyoza without asking and handed us.
Is this a new norm?
I felt the business doesn't care about customers. I cannot put my finger on a particular thing. I didn't feel any passion for food. The place was clean but nothing special. The service was heartless.
This is my go to for spicy ramen!
I have yet to find another ramen spot that stands as high as this place in my book. Its been on man vs food for their challenge special number 2 i personally prefer a number 4 but if yoir looking for spicy ramen this is the place! (They also have nonspicy)
Whenever I crave Ramen, I come here. They are good, quick and fair priced. They also validate for parking at the lot located below the little center they are located in.
Food is good. It’s very small inside but also got chairs outside. Wish there was less wait times but totally worth the food.
This ramen is pretty good, it has the potential to be the most spicy ramen i've ever tried if you ask for it. If you're in the area it's not a bad choice.
The bowl is big- but the amount of noodle is actually not that much IMHO. Also the meat was not consistent- some have more, some have less,
I had low expectations and they were blown away. Definitely come here for spicy food. Humongous bowls and was featured on man vs food. Not a chain, it’s a one of kind ramen place. Don’t come here if you’re on a budget though. Easily spend up to 15$ on one meal.
Great ramen, but they aren’t messing around with the spice level. Between one and two levels above “not spicy” is what I’d consider normal. I can’t even imagine “special number 2. ” (8 levels from not spicy). They also have a vegetarian broth that they can make in all the flavors.
This ramen shop has been a favorite of mine for years. My favorite is the soy broth and I like to play with the level of spice depending on the day. The dumplings are also very good, I order them almost every time.
