Oscar's Brewing Company reviews
18 Back in the day, when we were all jamming to the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, I used to frequent this place called Oscar's (now known as OBC brewing Company). And let me tell you, their breadsticks were the stuff of legends! I mean, I even told my girlfriend about them. She didn't believe me, so we embarked on a breadstick mission. We arrived at the restaurant, and the first thing we noticed was the gorgeous patio overlooking a pond. I mean, talk about a picturesque setting for a breadstick showdown!
The service was top-notch, and the staff made us feel like breadstick royalty. They had heaters on the patio, which was a perfect touch for those chilly evenings. The atmosphere was so cozy and inviting that we instantly felt at home. The menu had a wide variety of delicious options, but our focus was on those legendary breadsticks. And let me tell you, they did not disappoint! They were warm, soft, and oh-so-garlicky. My girlfriend's eyes widened with every bite, and I could see the love for breadsticks growing in her heart.
We also tried the lamb meatball pizza, which was absolutely yummy! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a burst of culinary delight. However, the real winner for me was the brioche. It was like a little piece of heaven on a plate. The breadsticks alone are worth the journey, but the overall experience will leave you wanting more. Trust me, you won't regret it! My girlfriend is now obsessed with breadsticks, and I have officially become the Breadstick King.
We had reservations for a large party for a birthday. Everything was AMAZING! The service was outstanding, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect. I would absolutely recommend OBC. Thank you for making my birthday celebration awesome!
Didn't like the food very much. "They need to stop with the sauce" as my mom said while we were eating. Seems like sauce is used generously to mask the dull and dry proteins offered here. Even the salmon was dry somehow. At best, the place didn't offer much to my palette, at worst, the meats were dry and had a strange combination of flavors. Chicken sandwich tasted like ash. Would skip this place if you want steaks. I had the lost traveler noodles and they were good. I'm glad I didn't get anything else I don't think I wouldn't enjoyed any other dish based on what I tried around the table.
Long wait for food at the bar. We had to ask why, as no one said anything. Could have brought our ordered breadsticks while we were waiting, but they did not. 4 or 5 employees behind the bar, personal conversations, looking at phones. Food was just so so. Justin, was the only employee who seemed to have customer service training.
Beer flights were great. Food was amazing. Prices were fair (everything is expensive these days) and staff was very kind and accommodating. Love the dog friendly patio too.
Pleasantly surprised! We haven’t been here since it re-opened as OBC and now we regret we hadn’t come sooner. Very spacious. We loved the open bakery and pizza oven where you can see your food being prepared. The bar is awesome with plenty of TV’s. The food is great. My wife loved the Harvest Salad. We will be back.
(December 2023) Back in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, I used to go to (what was then just called Oscar’s) in the San Diego Mission Valley location before it closed.
For years, I’ve told my wife how amazing the breadsticks were. So much so, we went out of our way to Temecula to prove I was right.
Now, if only OBC reopened a location in San Diego, or better yet, one in the Washington DC area!
Previous visit: Great food and overall hospitality
Now: . Just as good if not a better experience with the family after an event. Courteous staff, good food and awesome drinks!
I had my Son and new daughter in law's rehearsal dinner at Oscar's! We had 32 guests attend! Tonya was my contact person and my angel who helped me every step of the way. She answered all of my many questions with helpful suggestions and was so patient. The night of the event Chritine was our wonderful server, She was also so helpful and had everything completely under control at all times! She was so pleasant and completely efficient! She handled that room of 32 guests like it was a family out to dinner! She was the very best!
The food was delicious and every single one of my guests was happy with their meals and drinks.
I would recommend Oscar's to anyone looking for a place for an event or a nice night out to dinner!
Food and service was great! Definitely recommend the tritip and not a Cuban sandwiches! Nice that their default side is a salad too! The beer was very good too!
Second time here and the atmosphere does not disappoint. Beautiful scene, delicious drinks (I had the peach spritz- Wilson’s creek almond wine), ordered the shrimp and scallop fritters, and New York strip! I had the travelers noodles the first time I went, which is still a favorite!
Ok so I wanted to love it due to the duck pond outside. The views were great. The service was good. The food was mediocre. We got the ceviche and it was so salty we had to return it. It was very difficult to eat. We ordered two different pizzas and they served us the same one. They did fix it and were apologetic. I’d give it another chance in case my food experience was a fluke. Big open place. Nice vibe. It was my birthday and they did bring me a yummy desert!
Showed up to this place on a Sunday afternoon, beautiful atmosphere outside our server Jern was absolutely wonderful. His presence and personality made the night. Thanks for employing wonderful associates that care about the customer. Loved the bread sitcks, atmosphere and service.
We went to try their happy hour. Loved their drinks! Friendly staffs and tasty food. Going back for sure
We were in the area for a wedding and had a large group go there for lunch. The food was very good with ample portion sizes and the server was attentive and very good! We were seated on the patio next to the bar area under a large tree which made for a great atmosphere. Our group ordered the breadsticks, Maitake Mushroom Pizza, Surf n Turf Ahi Ceviche, Roasted Cauliflower, Tri Tip Sandwich, Blackened Fish Tacos and the Grown Up Mac & Cheese.well that's the things that I can remember anyway)
The freshness and quality of the food was excellent and we'd definitely go there again if we are in the area.
Of course since it is a Brewing Company, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the beer! Excellent options for every taste!
Unfortunately, I arrived late and didn't get photos of any of the plates, but they were plated beautifully.
Thank you to all at OBC for a wonderful wedding rehearsal party. The space was perfect, taco bar delicious, desserts-yum! Staff attentive. A terrific evening for the bride and groom, family and friends.
Came for the cheezborger, stayed for Connor Duffey’s amazing service and mustache. Phenomenal.
This place is phenomenal. We have not had a bad experience here yet. The food is always great, especially the bread sticks. Never had a problem with the service either. It is fairly priced as well.
