I used to come here frequently growing up in SD. I moved a few years ago but this place is always on my list to visit each time I come back to the city. I was visiting my family for the holidays and started off the New Years with Oscars.

Highly recommend the battered fish tacos. 3 tacos are enough to not be bloated afterwards but somehow I end up with 4 because I don't know when the next time I'll have it. I've tried a handful of items on their menu but I keep going back to these tacos.

Their fish is absolutely fresh and locally sourced. Don't forget to grab some sauce and ask for lime! The light red chipotle sauce is delicious and not spicy. Surprisingly the green sauce had a small kick.

Seating is outdoors and may be hard to get. Next best option is take it down to the beach and enjoying the food while watching the surfers and the beautiful costal view.

I'm shocked at all the good reviews. The tacos are dry and bland and the few sauces they offer are spicy and not very good. Definitely not worth a second visit.

Awesome ceviche if you need to bring a dish to dinner party.the often are making it with bluefin tuna.

The food here is really tasty and it’s a great local shop. But, I’ve had a reoccurring issue that has been frustrating. I ate here a couple weeks ago and ended up eating a real chorizo taco. I am vegetarian and I ordered the soy chorizo taco. My friend got a regular chorizo and we mixed them up on accident because they aren’t marked. I went again this week and asked if they could mark the real and soy chorizo tacos and they said yes. They didn’t, and when I brought the food home we couldn’t tell again so I ended up just not eating any of them because it’s so hard to tell. It’s a great place but my experience has been sub par.

Great prices and portions. Seafood (shrimp, fish, etc.) taste great in burritos and tacos and make the perfect sunset picnic meal!

They never fail to surprise me. I came here recently but the last time I came before that was 3 years ago. I literally forgot how good the food was. Thankfully I came back!

We decided to stop here after a 2 hour jaunt in Torrey Pines. The only thing they were missing was beer or wine. Haha

We ordered the mixed ceviche to start- it was yummy, liked the fish in the ceviche more than the shrimp.

Then we got the octopus, shrimp and fish taco.

Octopus was by far our favorite- and I honestly think it’s that queso Fresca that brings it up a notch. Soooo good.

Shrimp was number 2. The butteriness of the shrimp was great. Lots of flavors there.

The grilled fish was good but was defeated by the octopus and shrimp.

This Oscars and the other locations are well known for their tacos. This is evident with the long lines at both locations. At this particular spot, it is a smaller without in dinning space. There are stands on the outside to eat. You order your food, and wait for them to call out your order number. The sauces are inside. Their happy hour battered fish tacos $. 99 are only available Mondays thru Thursdays starting at 3 pm until 6 pm. The tacos are good especially the soy chorizo, taco special (grilled shrimp, scallops, and smoked fish), and the surf & turf.

Fish and shrimp tacos were very good. Fresh fried goodness on a bed of pico and shredded cabbage.

INCREDIBLE TACOS. I got the surf and turf- no regrets- and they gave us the most delicious sauces. We got the mixed white fish and shrimp ceviche. Do not skip the ceviche! The only thing lacking is the seating. 10/10. I rarely leave reviews and I ate these yesterday. Still dreaming about those tacos.

This wasn’t the cleanest place I’ve ever been to, but the food was delicious. I tried the battered fish tacos, and the grilled shrimp and grilled fish tacos. The sauce is the best part.

The food was made perfect! Very tasty fish tacos. Seating is not the best, especially when it's busy. But definitely worth it. Go during off hours.

The absolute BEST vegan Mexican tacos I have ever had! Sooo worth waiting in line! I had the soyrizo with potatoes and it came with avocado. Two tacos are satisfying but if you’re hungry get three!
