Oscars Mexican Seafood

I don't know if they are getting inconsistent or this location is worse than the others, but this visit was not as good. But, oscars is still the best with the fisherman torta and fish tacos.

Small storefront restaurant with limited seating. Able to find a high top counter with stools in the window. Friendly staff, efficient food preparation. The Atun Adobado, Smoked Fish, Spicy Shrimp, and Grilled Octopus were all delicious, nicely portioned tacos. Aguas Frescas were sweet and refreshing.

Overall, reasonably priced, well prepared seafood tacos.

First time to Oscar’s. The fish soup is delicious. An unexpected pleasure. The prices and quantities are great. Will definitely return.

Tacos were tiny, ceviche was tiny, horchata was tiny, the torta was huge, overall food was good but needed that special salsa a Mexican restaurant has. The ambience is a little off from a Mexican restaurant, definitely has a gentrified feeling.

The staff here were incredibly kind from the moment I walked in. Their large portions and fresh ingredients make them a favorite of many who live in the neighborhood! I had the surf and turf tacos and it was delicious! The only problem is parking. The lot fills up quick so be sure to account for extra time waiting for a parking spot.n

These wonderful tacos make me want to move to San Diego. The tacos were excellent, ceviche was really zesty (although might be better to share with someone), and the fish stew. Oh the fish stew, man oh man.

Overall a must try if you are in the county. Could not say any more about how good it is

One of the best, if not THE best, Mexican seafood joints I've eaten at in a long time. The Shrimp & Chorizo taco is on a whole new level. Highly recommend!

Love this place! Got the Taco Especial, spicy shrimp taco and a shrimp ceviche. All delicious, well be back!

Came here for our quest for the best fish tacos in San Diego. Definitely a top contender. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the taco especial that had shrimp, scallops, meat, avocados and the fixings. Yummy! It is popular so the lines can get long according to our local host.

Not going to lie when I came here for the first time I said to myself, " how good can a fish taco be" well let me tell you that yes a fish taco can be that good.

Pretty good, will definitely be returning. Food was impressively cheap and tasted good as well. I tried the battered fish, battered shrimp tacos, and taco especial, wasn't a huge fan of the especial but the other two were good

Hands down, one of the BEST mexican restaurants I've been to! We had a battered fish taco, battered shrimp taco, surf and turf taco, fish ceviche, and two Aguas frescas. Everything was fiiiiiiiiire. Yall gotta try it. I promise you will be going back for more.

Came here for obligatory fish tacos while visiting San Diego. Always solid.

Oscars stands out as one of my favorite taco joints in San Diego. The spicy shrimp taco and fish taco’s are quite good. A nice touch is the chilled salsa’s stored in the fridge instead of room temperature. Overall, tasty tacos and clean food. Good job!

I've been to the La Jolla location and the quality here is just as good, but not as busy. I always get fish tacos, all of them are good, ymmv but my favorites are the original battered, spicy shrimp and taco especial. The ceviche is also super bomb.

Oscar's is a frill free fast casual place near the very north end of balboa / university / hillcrest. It is the place to go for a fast casual weekend lunch after scorching oneself in Balboa Park. I had the bluefin ceviche which was incredibly fresh as the fish look pink and was very soft. My better half ordered the seafood taco with smoked marlin, scallop, and a couple other things (served hot). That was also good but I'd definitely go back for the bluefin.
