Leaving this as a PSA for every diner here. Came to this place based on amazing reviews for great dim sum. Grew suspicious when the shumai came unusually soft and dug into it to find raw shrimp and pork. Same thing happened to two other dishes and we were done. They offered to replace but still proceeded to charge us for everything on the table that we barely touched. Beware eating here.

Absolute gorgeous dim sum place I’ve ever been to. Not only is their food delicious, their staff is extremely sweet, knowledgeable. Their staff also suggests dishes based on the customer’s taste palette.

When at the table, you will be given pencils and menu cards to tick your choice of dishes.
We ordered their shrimp and chive dumplings to start with and then went for their pan fried mushroom bun and pan fried noodle (we took chicken instead of beef and pork).

I wasn’t a fan of the mushroom buns but the pan fried noodles and the bun tasted exceptionally good and tasteful. I could get a hint of every ingredient added to the dish.

10 stars to Osmanthus

We had a large group. These servers took advantage of the large group by adding to our order what we did not request and increasing the quantity of an order. Things like pekeng duck were added, original orders of 2 plates turned into 4. Then they proceed to argue showing the order sheet (which was tampered with). I wanted the order sheet returned so we can audit the orders but the wait staff ran away with it.

Delicious food and a very hospitable team! We had a wonderful brunch there today and will definitely be back!

They have tables fully set up outside, with fully functioning heat lamps, and then say customers can't sit outside to eat. Genius.bye bye.

This dim sum restaurant is much better than all dim sum restaurants on Jackson Street. Freshly made and delicious. The restaurant is spacious and clean. The staff are friendly.

Excellent! The food, the ambience, the service. Will definitely be back soon! Great options for cocktails, tea, dim sum, and main courses. Food came quickly and the restaurant had a really nice open feel. Great for a family meal (my toddler loved it) and also nice enough for a date night. We ordered garlic noodles, chicken and broccoli, potstickers, baked pork buns (amazing!) and jasmine tea. Just scrumptious!

This review is only for takeout of dry-fried chicken wings.
Not recommended. Soggy coating and poor flavors. If San Tung was 10, this would be a 2. Service was good and friendly and place seemed nice.

My partner and I’s experience did not meet the expectation set by the high rating and alluring photos.

Food was average and a bit oily. Best thing we ordered was the Singapore noodles which is a safety dish at any Chinese restaurant.

Service was great! Wouldn’t come back, but a good last minute spot. Overall a lot of competition for a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco, they need to step it up & improve quality of dishes.

Food was good but the service sucked. We sat at 8: 10pm on a Friday and the kitchen doesn't close until 9pm. We ordered all of our dishes at once (12 plates) and asked the server to space it out and not send everything out at once. She confirmed and said no problem.

Everything hit the table at once to the point that it was ridiculous. When I asked why she did that two other gentleman came over instead of the server. The person I'm assuming was the manager told me "his kitchen walks off the line at 9 so they needed to get it out" and the server "probably didn't understand what I was asking" and closed with "what do you want me to do about it? " - Not a great first experience and the manager could've handled things better.

There are too many great dumpling and Asian restaurants in SF to have to go through that. The dining room was also freezing.

Stopped in SF on a cruise, decided to go walking around. Saw Osmanthus and decided to give it a try. This was the best Chinese food I have ever had! Highly recommend the black pepper beef pastry and the salted egg yolk black sesame balls!

We brought a friend to Osmanthis lounge who was gluten intolerant. The host carefully looked over the menu and circled all the things that they could eat. I felt that the service was excellent and the food was great.

Enjoyed the Mapo tofu and the dumplings. Everything tasted fresh.

Low quality, tasteless food and abhorrent service. Very overpriced and clearly for tourists.

They will literally run after you if you tip 20% and demand 25%. They did this for a corporate event and specifically targeted the Chinese in the group, openly harassing them for more money.

Dine here at your own professional risk.

Visited Osmanthus after my daughters wedding as it is their favorite spot for dumplings! The food & service were both exceptional! I’m sure we will visit again whenever we’re back in town.

We tried Osmanthus today and it is the best dim sum we have had to date. It's very nice and clean inside, the staff were all really friendly, and the food was amazing. Parking was easy in the lot next to it. It is $20 for the whole day. So we took a nice walk to Coit Tower afterwards to burn off the food. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Osmanthus Dim Sum Lounge in San Francisco offers a delightful dining experience that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity. The Mongolian beef is a standout, with its robust flavors and tender meat that melts in your mouth. Complementing this are the spring rolls – crispy on the outside, filled with a perfectly seasoned medley on the inside. Not to be overlooked, the vegetable lo mein is both flavorful and refreshingly light, a testament to the kitchen's knack for balancing taste and texture. A visit to Osmanthus is a journey through authentic Chinese cuisine with a contemporary twist. Highly recommended for both dim sum enthusiasts and culinary explorers alike.

Fantastic dim sum, and a lovely spot for a nice late afternoon bit of relaxation. Very accommodating! I stopped by with my dog and grabbed a seat out on the patio. The staff offered him water and we're very welcoming! Service was quick and wonderful, food was excellent and exactly what I needed. Prices were very fair as well. Been on a long road trip and I needed some dim sum in my belly, been craving it since I left Seattle! Ordered quite a bit for just me, with the intention of taking leftovers with me. 10/10 taste and quality, service and atmosphere. I will be sure to come back when I'm in SF again! Thank you!
