This area is what you make of it. There are unofficial trail opportunities. But you'll know you're breaking rules. If you're into westerly views, this is a great area late day when the air is dry.

Need a break from the city.this was so calming and clean. I just want to encourage everyone to put an effort into leaving positive reviews-put positive and let people know what you really like and loved. Don't put your effort in putting negative comments about businesses or service that you don't want to do business with because they didn't do what you wanted them to. That is a waste of everyone's time to be negative. People read tin between the lines. Besides when you're looking for a job anyone looking for a job- owners and human resources look at what you post on the Internet. If you're a negative person that does not look good.

Here you can find beautiful valleys and hills along with unique plants. This is a scenic heaven with picture perfect views everywhere! If you need a break from the city this is a perfect place for a day trip and just enjoy the outdoors. Always bring plenty of water and food so you don’t have to leave!

Nice truck trail or hiking if your up for it. Went yesterday and even though cloudy it was a great drive in a Jeep Gladiator Mojave edition.

If you are up for a little adventure take the route outside of Pio Pico thousand trails campground. The road is narrow and rough but you can’t beat the views. We saw several deer and a coyote. Don’t try this route with anything lower than a small suv.

Its a good local truck trail. The side trail can go to intermediate to hard levels but the main trail is easy level.

We camped at Pio Pico Preserve, part of the Thousand Trails campgrounds. Super clean bathrooms and showers. It was close to the things we wanted to see and do in San Diego, but we were unhappy with quite a few things there. 1) check in was a hassle. 2) not all sites have electricity, water, and sewer. 3) there's a complicated process to get a full hook up site. 4) lots of litter. 5) quite a few things seemed to be in disrepair - laundry machines, electrical boxes, etc. 6) not very well marked sites. 7) dog poop - not everywhere, but enough to just watch your step. Needless to say, we'll stay somewhere else
