Took my last surf lesson before setting out on my own and was not disappointed. Zach is hype man you want in the waves with you. Cannot recommend more.

Came in for a weekend trip from Denver and decided to try surf lessons with my fiancé. Not sure what I expected but it was better than anything I thought it might be.

Russell was our instructor and was pretty amazing. Easy instructions and really engaged…we both got up end were well on our way in no time. Highly suggest if you’ve thought about it.

I searched for surf lessons where I could have the same instructor for four days with the goal of being able to catch and ride a wave on my own without any assistance from the instructor by day 4.

PS School assigned one of their top instructors, Russell Kilburn, who consistently pushed me to practice the technical fundamentals of surfing until they had an natural, muscle memory flow.

Not only did I reach a point where I could spot and ride a wave on the foam surf board, but the true test was when I rented a regular demo board the day after my fourth and final day with Russ and successfully rode 15 waves maintaining a standing position to the beach.

Mission accomplished. Thank you, Pacific Surf School, and a big thanks to my instructor, Russ, who was a true pro!

Russell Kilburn was an awesome instructor! The entire experience was so fun, encouraging, yet challenging. I appreciated him making adjustments as the time went on-switching me to a different board for a better experience and greater ability to paddle out. It was so fun, I booked another set before I head home.

I had the most amazing time at pacific surf school! It was definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had. With just 2 days of lessons and some amazing instruction, I felt amazing on those waves. I cannot recommend this school enough. Julia was great and helped my brother and I get the basics down on the first lesson. John was an amazing surf instructor and taught me soooo much on my second day of surfing. He was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Definitely coming again on my next visit to SD!

Really friggin great lesson. Russell got me up immediately then worked on perfecting the form. Ton of attention to detail. Waves were actually pretty brutal but he was patient and got me to the right spots. Location of the surf school can’t be beat either

Russell was an excellent instructor. He was very thorough, covering everything from terminology, to ocean safety, to technique. I've never been surfing before in my life, but after learning from Russell, I felt pretty confident. Either way, prepare to have a fun, memorable experience!

Zack, Julia, and Alyssa were the best instructors I could ask for. Big thank you to each of you for making the beginning of this surf adventure so fun and approachable.highly recommend.

Vic was a fantastic instructor! Helped me get the basics down and wasn’t afraid to push me toward bigger and more advanced waves as I picked it up! Will definitely be back

I had so much fun with Thomas teaching me and my friend that came over for a visit. I never thought I could be able to stand even briefly when attempting to surf for the first time but he helped me with his guidance and instruction each time. Well worth it and I’ll try to come back with friends.

Great experience so far with our instructor Paul Gilmore. We've had two lessons with him and the progression has been amazing. Looking forward to the next lesson!

Edit2: shout out to Shae Mayan, did a lesson with her and she was awesome! Also had a bunch of dolphins around us which was sick.

Edit: I have to take one star off for the management. This is the second time they've messed up our schedule. We rescheduled one of our 4 lessons and called twice to confirm, we showed up on the day of and there was nothing booked. Similar thing happened last year when they confirmed to keep me with the same instructor for all 4 lessons, but every lesson was booked with a different instructor.

This has been the best day of my life. I’ve never surfed before and I was so scared to get into the water. Thomas our instructor was perfect, always there to help me and teach the best way to get on the board. We also saw 3 dolphins. It is so cool and so well organized! Totally a must do in SD!
