Pain and Spine Management: John Villanueva, MD, FAAPMR, Burbank CA

Very disappointing. No call back for 4 days when trying to have my hired nurse ask Dr. Villanueva if he would be willing to work with me as I was a somewhat new patient trying to get off of norco and onto subutex. After 4 days, my nurse and he finally spoke and he stated that yes, he would be willing to work with me. Today I go to my appointment and I am treated as a child. And told that I violated their rules that I switched medications and didn't go through them. That was an inaccurate statement by the Physician Assistant. I had my RN personally speak to the doctor and explained exactly what was going on. And exactly what we were trying to accomplish and then today to show up at my appointment and was told that I was in violation of the paperwork that I had originally signed as a new patient and must have missed that portion the physician assistant stated.
She who treated me so poorly today. I had already had my nurse get the OK from the doctor to continue treatment. And yet that PA tells me again that I had violated the contract and that she needed to speak to the doctor and the staff to see if they would be able to work with me. They need to get their act together. I had tried contacting that office and nobody answered
and nobody returned my calls nor my nurses calls for 4 days. At first, Rose seemed amazing yet after the third or fourth call, not all in one day, she was like a different person. When I left there today already in not a very comfortable state and to have felt like I had done something wrong after already speaking to the doctor and telling him exactly what was going, I don't even know how to explain how horrible I felt. I will never return to this office nor would I ever recommend this office to anybody.

Extremely welcoming and very nice including his office staff who always treats you with patience, respect and friendliness.

Best doctor's office I have ever been to! Dr. Villanueva is one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and caring physicians. He also has the most amazing staff. Javier goes above and beyond and Rose is always so kind and patient. I can't say enough good things about Dr. V and his staff. I'd give 10 stats if I could.

Absolutely the best dr and staff. Dr. Villanueva shows the upmost care for patients and listens to all concerns. Javier thank you for all your help getting me seen very quickly and cannot leave out Rose such a sweet heart soothing voice to hear over the phone and setting up all my appointments. Excellent service!

Disabled military veteran here, trying to get help with alleviating back pain from military service. I’ve been working with John’s office for about a year… I still have not even been able to get in for a service that was supposed to be scheduled back in March because of the mismanagement of the practice. Large in part due to Xavier the office manager. I’m coming from the VA- notorious for horrible customer service- it’s saying some thing if I complain about bad customer service. Professionalism at this practice is absolutely ridiculous. I voiced concerns 2x regarding the customer service of Javier, the office manager. He’s incredibly rude over the phone and he is not probably indicative of John’s intentions for his practice… however, since I did voice concerns with the doctor regarding Javier’s customer management and professionalism, so obviously, that’s what his practice is intended to be. It’s been a week and I’m still waiting on a call back. I’m actually going to petition to the VA to remove this office as a Veteran vendor after my experience.

Had the pleasure to be seen at dr.villanuevas office and was treated so kindly from Javier the manager so professional along side rose and Justin. I was confused on my auth and Javier was super detailed on what is going on and he’s been taking care of the details for me
