Palm Canyon Resort

I recently stayed at this place and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. From the moment I entered the room, I was greeted by an unpleasant stench that persisted throughout my stay. The room had a stale smell that was almost unbearable. It was evident that the housekeeping staff did not pay attention to the cleanliness of the room, and the overall hygiene standards were severely lacking.

To make matters worse, the receptionist's incompetence added to my frustration. Despite having made a reservation and arriving at the designated check-in time, we were not given our room promptly. The receptionist seemed utterly clueless and incapable of efficiently handling the situation. Her lack of professionalism and common sense was glaringly evident. I was disappointed by her inability to resolve the issue promptly, which resulted in unnecessary delays and inconvenience.

It is disheartening to encounter such poor service and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. As a guest, I expected a comfortable and enjoyable stay, but instead, I was greeted with an unpleasant odor and an unhelpful receptionist. This experience has left a negative impression on me, and I cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers.

I sincerely hope that the management takes note of these issues and takes appropriate steps to address them. Improving the cleanliness and odor control within the rooms and ensuring that the reception staff are properly trained and equipped to handle guest concerns would be a good starting point. Guests deserve better treatment and a more pleasant experience when they choose to stay at a hotel.

I regret to say that my stay at Palm Canyon was disappointing and fell far below my expectations. I hope that future guests have a better experience, but until significant improvements are made, I would advise considering alternative accommodation options in the area.

This place is a great place for kids to play in the pool and have fun in the water slides but the water was disgusting, very dirty. The food and drinks there was overly priced. Talking about the room is what made us leave 2 days early from our 3 day stay. The moment you walk into the room the carpet hits you with the worst smell ever and it’s full of stains. The room was full of ants everywhere you look. The parking was horrible, we were not allowed to park our SUV in the underground, we had to park our car outside of the hotel and in the streets. Service wasn’t the best, we were told to get another trip on them, but my wife didn’t have her id on her at the time so they did not give us the trip. Would not recommend a stay here.

Great to visit with kids
The gym also has an area for children to work out and a basketball court.
However, it is a rather old-fashioned resort.

Detergent must be collected at the front desk
It's a desert area so it's very hot.
The air conditioner cannot be lowered below 68 degrees Fahrenheit.is set

We stayed here during Memorial day weekend and beyond. The pool was very crowded, as I should've imagined. I usually will squeeze in any way but it was bumper to bumper as if not to be able to move around. I only went in once.
The rooms were clean but need an update.
The location is convenient to most everything.
Due to the pool situation, I won't be staying here again.

Nice and very big suite (villa), at the resort is a very nice swimmingpool. The location is good, near downtown Palm Spring. Love the dessert here, its also mear my fav Indian Canyon hike and lots of golf courses.

Stayed for a week here. I did not see when booking though RCI that there was a $30 PER DAY per room resort fee for the WiFi, parking, 10% off at the spa and access to online newspapers. I have gone to many resorts in the 29 years of owning a timeshre and have only seen a fee at one other resort. The person that checked us in claimed that all resorts charge a fee. The location cannot be beat as it is close to everything in the valley. There are hiking trails just up the street as well as the Indian Canyons which I would recommend as a day trip. The pool is nice, but the security was overbearing as they wanted to check my bag each time I entered. I did speak to the head of security about it and they seemed to stop. Most resorts have gone to a wrist band you get at check in but this location had a pool checkpoint that was the only entrance, at which they would check your room number and give out a daily wristband. There is a bar at the pool that serves food and alcohol. The rooms are OK but somewhat dated.

Horrible place I do not recommend it, there are cheaper hotels and a little better than this. It took us 30 minutes to register, several times the boys were on the phone. They also charge a 200 dollar deposit for something that I think is not worth it.horrible experience

The parking there is horrible. The food/drink prices at the Cafe are outrageous. The only thing we liked was the water slide. If not for that, our time there wouldn't have been that great. We will definitely stay at a different place when we go to Palm Springs. The staff members we had interaction with though seemed to be very nice and helpful. So I will give them that.

This place is not for me and my family. The room had a horrible smell, and the carpet was disgusting. There was an unidentified stain on the foldable bed. The service was not that good because at the front desk, they gave us wrong information about the pool.

From the moment you get there this place screams mediocre, they are so far away from most things yet haven't spent much on any upgrades to make up for it. There's a cafe that serves the pool deck and we're done.

The concierge desk cannot help with anything, every time I asked the response was we didn't have access to that, you'll have to ask the front desk. The front desk was constantly overwhelmed. There was always more staff doing nothing at the concierge desk than front desk agents try to get something done.

There are laminate notes in the rooms basically apologizing for the terrible carpet, blaming it on the color, the color doesn't help with the feel or the fact that the padding is so worn that it is not comfortable to walk on barefoot.

The shower head only came up to my shoulder, I'm 6'2" (188cm) they tried to fix it by installing a fancy hand held wand and an oversized rain head, the wand just hits the rain head hand dribbles behind it.

This is a timeshare owners pay a maintenance fee some has been skimming it for years because none of it has been spent on maintenance.

The staff tries but the previous management didn't give them much to work with.

On a bright note the Canyon Spa is fantastic, Mary and her crew almost made up for a perfectly average week.

The staff was great. Stephanie W.at the front desk was awesome! Give her a raise! The pool bar drinks and food were exceptional and the staff was hustling. We had a great experience. The only complaint is our room was a little dirty and outdated, and I wish they had coffee in lobby. We will definitely stay with Palm Canyon resort again. Hopefully, Hilton will make some improvements.

First time staying here 5/2/23, I'm sure any traveler would agree that after getting off work and driving well over an hour or more through traffic the thing we look forward to is to check in and be able to relax. Unfortunately for everyone who showed up last night that was not the case. Went inside to check in and saw a line of about 8 people. The man up front said he'd been in line for 35 minutes. There was only one receptionist at the time then about 30 minutes later another showed up to "help" yet the wait time kept getting longer. Other travelers and i timed and watched the check ins and it was taking about 10 minutes per traveler to check in and we could hear the receptionistcalling securityto check certain rooms to see if they were ready. I was in line for 1 hour and 12 minutes before I finally got to the receptionist, and by that time the line had about 15 parties waiting. I couldn't believe there was only 2 receptionist for all of us and 3 empty computers that couldve helped alot had there been more staff. I couldnt understand how there were 3 employees at the concierge desk who were just handing out packets to travelers who just checked in instead of helping out. Even then when I went by after checking in and wasn't handed one because they were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice. I give huge props to the 2 receptionist that night for doing what they could to get us all checked in. Its by no means their fault, but management seriously needs to improve on training other employees in the lobby to be able to help out when needed.

I’ve been here twice & actually like the rooms and pool area, However I didn’t appreciate how long it took to check in their was only one agent working the front desk with a full lobby while other employees walked around which made the check in process way longer / frustrating. I waited 25 mins to be checked in because the front desk lady Angela was being very chatty with the guest in front of me and it took her 20 minutes alone to check them in, after finally being able to check in as I was walking out an agent stopped me saying he had a “gift” for me and tried to convince me to go to a seminar for 1 hour and 45 minutes to have a chance to win a “free 7 day trip” & then wanted my debit card to place a 40 dollar hold to secure a seat in the “seminar” & I almost felt forced because he wouldn’t let me walk away as he kept talking I of course declined because I wasn’t interested & he seemed bothered. WORD OF ADVICE stop harassing your guests who are there on vacation with these desperate salesman tactics it makes the stay unpleasant. Please beware for anyone who plans to stay here in the future.

Rooms smell, need updating and were dirty. Customer service isn’t great. Basketball court needs updating. Tennis courts that you can’t use. They were late on opening pool. Got updates that different things were broken but getting fixed. Could only exchange pool towels once our entries stay because that area was never open. Last day we expected to check out and hang at the pool for a couple of hours before our flight. Not only can they not store your luggage but they also let me know at checkout that we no longer had access to the pool that day. Won’t be staying here again.

Only stayed one night and regret it so much. What an amazing place. It’s like heaven in the desert. The staff are incredible, the location is stunning and the room was HUGE. The pool area is so clean and well maintained - and brilliant for kids (and us adults loved the jacuzzi!). Highly recommended!

Judging by some of the old pictures it looked very dated. I'm glad we decided to book anyway because our room was very nice and was close to the pool. I can't speak for the whole hotel but our room was very clean and modern. Just attained by the Hilton so they were trying to get people to sign up for a "presentation" which was a disaster. I could go into detail but not worth my time. Overall the stay went well and the woman who checked us in was super sweet. She was very professional and kept her composure while it was very busy at check in. I'd visit again. The slides close early so knowing that I'd get there earlier than check in so we could have taken advantage of that longer.

We arrived on Saturday and underground parking for our building was full apparantly with guests using our garage vs their bldg. Pool is nice, but no enforcement of throwing "hard" items in the pool. One family took up 1/2 the pool throwing a smaller hard rubber football. The threw the ball several times beyond the pool and i had to knock it away from me, so I really couldn't relax. No place to move with umbrellas were a premium. Staff waked by numerous times, and said nothing.

Had a small issue at checkout and they were very professional and fixed the issue above and beyond without asking just asked for the word to be passed down to management.thank you, and hotel was very nice great view of the pool waterfall and water slides and can even see part of the mountains, wish I had more time to enjoy iit. We even stayed another day longer than we planned we enjoyed our atay so much and are considering a third as we speak The little things u forget like a cup or there was even a blender to mix a drink so thanks again I was upset and left a bad review while in line and went to fix as soon as I remembered and management already apologized so they really do care thank you for the wonderful stay!
