Palm Springs / Joshua Tree KOA Holiday reviews
20 This was my first camping trip experience in my life. We stayed with family with tent option. We came late and there were spots available for tent. To fill the application and put the money.envelope was not there. But when we called the after hours number Mr. Adrian came to help us. The location is awesome and safe. On the map I felt it was on the desert but it is close to the town. Can see hills close to the campground. Very neat and clean.
Thank you whole team and Adrian!
Wonderfully friendly staff and well maintained sites and facilities. The hot spring hot tubs are so relaxing and there are plenty of family activities. They also have 4 dog parks and 2 of them are a few acres in size each. Plenty of room for fish to run and play. The camp store is nicely stocked and has basic RV supplies as well. I especially like the attendant at the gate at night for extra security. This is a huge park with tennis, a heated pool, basketball, mini golf, a playground and trikes for rent. Not too far from town and Joshua Tree National Park.
Very nice campground. Enjoyed the 104° hot tub missing ours at home on our 8 week trip visiting National Parks. Also the wifi was the best on our trip so far. I take nature photos and post them no problem at all from here. Sunset photo from our site at the campground
Nice campground really enjoyed the pools. Lots of others have them in the area as well. We left because there were better deals on weekly and monthly rates in the area.
Great park. Lovely sites. Huge pool. 3x hot tubs, 98deg, 100deg, 104deg, all from natural hot springs. Game rooms. Reading room. Mini golf. Go-Karts. Glamping, cabins, camp sites. The hugest doggy park, clean, I've ever seen. Friendly staff. Nearest groceries is Vons, but store has essentials. No noise, great mountainous views.
Beautiful campsite outside Palm Springs. Although it can be very warm here, the wind also blows regularly. The campsite has trees that provide shade, a swimming pool and 3 hot tubs. There is also a clubhouse with a pool table and football table.
There are various equipment for children, a miniature golf course and basketball court.
Neat campsite, it was quite quiet in the middle of high season.
We used it as an overnight campsite, arrived late, but reception had waited for us (and also passed on all necessary codes by email), so great service! Clean and tidy sanitary facilities and a nice swimming pool.
Our family love this place and we have been coming back whenever we have time to relax and bond as a family.
I can’t say enough good things about the service we received at the KOA Palm Springs. We booked a one night RV site but encountered an (obviously) unexpected mechanical issue with our RV the morning we were due to leave. The staff was incredibly understanding and helpful and thanks to their help we were able to get the part we needed to fix our motor home and get back on the road. They really went above and beyond what I could have hoped for and we got back on the road. My sons enjoyed the extra time to swim the pool too!
Had an amazing time. Even though it was in the 100s very hot. The cabin was amazing. Will definitely do it again and recommend it
The pull through spots are huge. The facilities are spotless and the staff are so helpful. Beautiful place!
It’s a national park, so it’s remote, but there was plenty within a 20 minute drive. We were in a tent and it was really windy with very little shade.
A lot of "undesirables" have been let in lately. Unusual to be hearing loud arguing yelling at all hours of the day and night. People wondering around. Need security besides at night at the gate. Used to be the place to go.
This KOA is in desert hot springs. It was nice, they have hot springs fed tubs and pools and mini golf. I think it would be nice if they had a bigger camp store or an on site restaurant or sold some sort of concessions like hot dogs, nachos etc.as the nearby food options are really limited. We drove about 15 minutes to go get dinner but it would be awesome if you didn't have to leave camp if you didn't feel like cooking. I also was hoping there would be more kid activities since it was a holiday weekend but we had fun regardless.
The convenience of a full hook-up is amazing! Great for families, big and small. Tons of things to do. They have a fantastic rec area, like basketball courts, parks, dog parks, swimming pool, hot tubs. They offer glamping accommodations as well. They had a kiddie train that goes around the park when we stayed there, it looked really fun for kids! The pool was crowded when we were there. Hot tub was amazing.
Not reccomended for a romantic getaway, or sleeping in. You'll wake up at 8am to yelling parents and screaming kids all day.

I've camped in the past
But I wanted to experience camping with amenities this time
I chose this location since I have been visiting the Coachella Valley lately
I want to know the history, the topography and attractions of the Coachella Valley
I came across this site and chose it because of its location and amenities
It about 20 minutes Northeast of Palm Springs off Dillon Road which is off Highway 62
It has the following:
-pool
-hot tub
-miniature golf course
-dog park
-tennis court
-showers
-laundry room
-restrooms
The staff is friendly
Property is maintained
Lit at night
Quiet
Sites are numbered
Fenced property
The camp site is ample, has a water connection, a light, picnic table and trash cans
Parking is at site
Sites are separated by a small hedge for privacy
However, camping sites do not have shade
Overall I enjoyed my stay at Kampgrounds of America
I would definitely return
Overall a good place to take a break from driving. Facilities show wear, could use some updating and remodeling.
Only real downside is your picnic table is right next to the waste pipe for the sight next to yours.
I reserved 5 nights here with a late arrival to explore Joshua Tree National Park. I selected a 50 amp back in based on the pictures online and what was available. We didn't need a double width site or anything, but the photos show sites mostly screened by landscaping with some decent views on gravel. What we found was a sand and dirt parking patch 4" out of level side to side right next to another camper, even though most of the campground is empty. I drove around and found what appears to be a newer section that obviously is where their photos were taken some time back. At my assigned site, the sewer connection is probably 6" - 8" above ground level and slightly uphill due to the slope of the spot. It's too high even for a hose cradle. I went to the front desk to finish check-in and complained about the conditions compared to what was showing online, and the woman just rolled her eyes and gave me a flippant smirk. I advised I may cut my time short, and she did nothing to accommodate the concern, such as offering to let me pay to upgrade my site. Not impressed with my experience here at $54/$57 per night. I can see that there are plenty of worse sites, so I guess there is that. We won't stay here again though and I think this place reflects poorly on KOA.
Rates are a little high and it pretty windy when we were there they advertised a pool table but I guess it is always out of service. But the shower s are in good working order.
I stayed four nights while exploring Joshua Tree National Park and Palm Springs. Nice level gravel with hookups in good condition. I enjoyed the pool and especially the hot tubs - 3 different temperatures feed by the renowned mineral spring wells. They also have a very large K9 play area and lot's of family oriented stuff to do. Highly recommended.
