Papa Johns Pizza, Bakersfield CA

Ordered the pepperoni stuffed Crest. I have to say that was the worst pizza I have ever had. I used to be a steady customer but haven't order for quite a while. I'm afraid afraid I will never order from again.

Ordered 3 pizzas and 2 orders of chicken. I received all 3 pizzas damaged. I called the store before the driver even pulled off. A gentleman by the name of Omar said he knew exactly what happened but couldn't do anything about it I would have to speak to the owner Jason. After several phone calls and messages I was finally able to speak to Jason. He said he did not need pictures and that he would look into the matter and would call back. Days went by no call, so I called back today. I was told all he could get is a credit. I advised I no longer want to order from Papa John's and would like a refund. I was told I cant have a refund and can only receive a credit. I told Jason again I dont want a credit. He said thats all he could/ would do. The WORST customer service.

My husband wanted to order from this pizza place because we’ve never had it. Well, we won’t be ordering from them again. The order was placed around 5: 45pm and it got to our door at 8: 08pm, but, only after we called for a status update. The person told us the driver tried to deliver, but, delivered it to our neighbors, of course they were told they didn’t order pizza. I will give them credit that they did try to call us, but, the person who took the order wrote the phone number incorrectly, so, they took the pizza back and from what we were told on the phone, placed it under a heat lamp or who knows how long. Instead of making a fresh pizza, they delivered the one that was under the lamp, we had to heat it in the oven. It tasted like cardboard. Easily could have spent $5 at the grocery store for a frozen pizza that would taste the exact way this one did. I wish our first time with this company was a better experience.

If you think the ultimate display of pettiness is complaining on a public forum about an unscheduled $37 food purchase, trust your instincts.

On another note, I felt bad for the employees here as tonight I witnessed their diligent labor burdened by unrealistic demands from truly hostile customers. Part of me was compassionate toward one customer's clearly exacerbated hunger; the other part wanted to remind the man that he was harassing a low wage employee over a situation clearly beyond the individual's control, and that choosing violence was not a good option. Brass tax: I'm confident the McDonalds down the way has McNuggies ready to go.

For my part, I just wanted an honest ETA for my order after the online tracker was clearly mistaken, by a factor larger than would be considered reasonable by a family of 6 already an hour past dinner time.

In the end, my lovely bride once again wins the argument about where to purchase the next order of cheesy ketchup bread, likely landing at one of the more expensive regional chains. I hate to admit my mistake, but dangit, when she's right, she's right.

Ordered the extra large and paid for it, and I ended up getting regular size pizza, and when I called the location, the guy asked me what kind of box it is, I have answered that it was the red one, and he said this is it, this is the size that you get. The pizza was un cooked well and the topping is not spread correctly.

The pizza is good at this location, but the customer service is not. I just this minute gave up while waiting on the telephone ON HOLD for 5: 25 minutes. I don't know what is going on at this restaurant, but it can't be good if they won't take a phone call. This happened to me once before at this location, but I didn't write about it. But this time I must. If either the franchise owner or a senior manager happens to look at this review, please know that you need to make some changes to staff up in a way that allows a caller like myself, who was trying to order two 16" pizzas, to actually get my order in. As a result, I am now calling a different pizza company. I'm betting that they will take my call in fewer than 5: 25 minutes.

My most recent visit here was quite pleasant. I like the app and text notifications regarding the status of your order. When I arrived, my pizza was ready, made correctly and I was greeted with a smile and thanked afterwards.

I ordered delivery and one of the items i got was garlic knots as i always do and these were dry pieces of bread with nothing on it and no flavor! Called to advise and they basically said next time order sauce on side (the owner) and there is nothing they can do!
Very disappointing because i’m pregnant and i have gotten these at least twice a week and it never looked or tasted like this! Today is my last time ordering from here!

I’ve had nothing but good interactions with the owner and the pizza always tastes great. Papa John’s needs to keep the Shaq pizza a regular item. That pizza conquered my two animal kids and now they’re recovering on the couch.

Don't buy papa John pizza anymore! I work there 2 years. Owner keep whole TIPS himself not Employee's. I learning from him a lots study his behavior, He was christian yes but he change turn SELFISH $$$ than Christian.and He work there 14 hrs? No He just log in his hour work 6 hrs plus go home rest all 14 hrs days. His time still running 10am to 10pm 7 days a week! He not even work their Weekend and All times. He make EXTRA $$$$ for HIMSELF RICHEST. And He never give all worker no breaks for work. And discrimination me.and what more? He don't care to go.all he want focus Delivery come first than To Go pizza. 1-2 hrs waiting to go.he don't care.and Boss put QUITTING on me? For disability and resign job? Wow. I can't believed that. So I decide accept hardest way.and I move on. I happy better job than Papa John. Reason? Here Simple. Large pizza cost $17 split 4 dough to papadias $6? Wait min 4 dough equal $24 dollar for 1 large dough? What different? Owner say dough cost $1 dollar each dough? And what else? What more? Cheese 1 cup on pizza that it.he care about cheese SAVE MONEY, He don't like COST WASTE MONEY AS PENNY, He won't give away Napkin and paper place too. My friend told me she join job in papa John then leave not happy! I ask her why? He offer her General Manager more pay once u join job, $2 off your salary? She step back and leave.that what she told me, I say wow, that Owner say $2 off salary? That BREAK LAW and Even more Break Illegal continues too. Owner NEVER GIVE WORKER'S BREAK'S!

So right now, I feel that he disrespected me that what he did to me.that Im disability 2 yrs. Never give us a break, and broken foot not even get pay, plus Covid happen, not even get pay too. I feel like he just SELFISH! I won't go there again!

I never forget what he say to me. Owner say Once u join new job. Your work business will LOWER and Owner Papa John pizza get HIGHEST! I feel like INSULT me!

He never give us Disability access our right. Owner take my right away from me. And never let me Cashier? He suspect me that I thief money? Excuse me? No I know how to handle I work restaurant many years. I never have any problem but only one Papa John Owner suspect me on Disability? WOW Nice to know him!

I'm giving a one star on the fact that employees are talking about how they would let pizza and other food items fall from the oven so they can take it home! This review is not a native review at all I know the family who owns this location.
Just that is not something to be talking about with customers in the shop that can hear you.

Kind staff.bought papadia wasn't as good as it looks on tv and choices on papadia is limited.also bought the stuffed crust pizza again not great the crust is too thin looks thicker on tv not worth the 38 dollars I spent was disappointed

Pizza is good. They have messed up on occasion, but usually try and correct it. We had to wait over an hour and half once because they forgot our order. We went ahead and canceled and went through a drive through. Since we eat pizza out often the service is fairly average for our area. Its just pizza, so if they correct their mistake its fine with me.

Took about 1.5 hours for delivery. The app said ‘on its way’ for about 1 hour and didn’t even leave the store. Then it came (after me complaining) and there was half of the cheese off the cheese sticks. (Not because it slid off but because it literally wasn’t put on there) and they gave us the wrong drink. I called to complain again & they gave me 50% off next order. I get it, bad nights. So I called again today. I could hear the person in the background tell someone ‘sorry for the wait’ & I knew what I was getting myself into so I told them we would pick up. They said 30 minutes. We arrive in 45 minutes, hasn’t even been cooked. Still currently waiting and it’s been over 1 hour.the only reason I gave 2 stars was because they honored the 50% off. Will never be back.

Ordered 2 pizzas on line and followed the pizza tracking. 25 minutes later the app shows the pizzas were ready. Low and behold.arrive and the pizzas weren't even put together much less ready for pick up. There should be someone responsible in the store and not leave young adults running the store. Don't ever trust your app for this location.
