They make you pay for the gelato size first, then say you can only try two flavors….
The tiramisu felt like it had ice chips. The other flavor I tried was too sweet… I would have walked out if I had not already paid.

My friend ordered a coffee and they opened up both containers of drip, and tried to pour the last cold dregs into a cup and hand it to him. We asked for a new brew. My drink was prepared perfectly, by a sweet lady working there, but I didn't like the taste of the espresso (very very dark.) The tables outside weren't clean. And in the bathroom, there are two mirrors, one is facing downwards towards the toilet, and it creeped me out. On the other mirror, there's a little blue light. What's that all about?

Their serving sizes are insulting, especially for the price. The flavor is really good but for how little the give you it would never be worth the price you pay. The location is good. The workers were not nice but not rude.

Affogatto, latte, & panini were all amazing! Barista was very kind, and service was quick.

Grew up going here when they first opened and always loved coming back for a marrocchino and one of the rare few coffee shops in San Diego that could actually make espresso.

But it's off my list now. I guess they must've hired new people who just aren't good at their job because the quality's tanked. Last 2 times I've been there I've gotten a coffee and a quiche or pastry and both times the coffee was disgustingly watery and the food gave me food poisoning.
I see others mentioning food poisoning too and how some workers are washing floors right before making food with the same hands that aren't being washed. As someone who nearly died before from typhoid fever from a food worker doing this kind of thing, pappalecco come on.have some basic standards, it's not like you're the only place in town anymore that knows what espresso is.

Delicious gelato. The flavors are extraordinary and delicious. Always.
There is ample place to eat on site.
Remember: first you order your gelato and then you can try the ones that interest you:) until you decide

Hate to do this bc I used to like this place, but came in on a casual sunday early evening. Very quiet time no line and not too busy outside.
Ordered gelato and chai latte. I saw the woman behind the counter pump syrup and then pour milk from the steaming jar without steaming it. I immediately said "wow what is she doing? I ordered whole milk" to the woman at the register, and the other one making the chai said 'oh we aready have the milk steamed sitting on the counter". I was really taken aback by this response so i shrugged my shoulders and said ok all the while regretting not asking her to make it fresh in front of me. When i tasted the chai it did not taste like whole milk. Typically i would request a remake but i was so dissapointed with this experience i just left to go sit outside. After a few minutes of sitting at the chair a smell of urine hit me. Really unpleasant experience. I realize downtown is swarmed with transients but it's really unpleasant to smell piss whilst trying to enjoy ice cream.
I will not be returning for a while.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I initially went here, but this was legit the best Affogato I’ve ever had. The pistachio gelato was outstanding, combined with that perfectly roasted Italian espresso, this is definitely something special. I’d definitely suggest you come check this spot out. You can choose what flavor of gelato to get with the espresso, but I highly recommend getting the pistachio
