Great kickboxing gym! Classes are a good workout but also technical. Love the coaches here.

We signed up our 5yo son for lessons at the end of his free trial class. We liked what we saw and immediately signed up. The energy and the environment was great, the instructors are serious about what they teach but at the same time keeping it fun for the young ones. Staff, students and parents all seemed to enjoy the classes and we wanted to be a part of it.

Black belt, training for 19 years. I enjoy dropping into gyms when I travel and the owner Jon was world class. Super friendly, welcoming, and his students were a class act. The instruction was detailed and just when you think you’ve seen it all, you learn new little details. All of the students were very friendly and treated me with respect. 10/10 will stop by again and couldn’t recommend it more for new students.

Paragon has been my family's fitness rock for more than eight years. Fabulous member community and excellent coaching. Tough Jiu jitsu program with plenty of variation to keep training fresh. TRX conditioning class pays off for injury prevention and keeping in shape. We love Paragon!

Love Paragon The TRX conditioning class is challenging and fun. Coaches are grounded and likable. Easy location with ample parking.

Went to visit UCSB and decided to drop in on a class. Contacted Paragon and John was more than welcoming to allow me to drop in for a class. Great class! Couple if good techniques and lots of roll time. Great mix of students: some relaxed like me, some are beast mode which is great. All in all, I had a fun time. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area. Thank you Paragon for your hospitality and training. Oss!

Coach John Sandoval creates a challenging, family-friendly, and fun environment for people from any background to become a part of something healthy and rewarding. You will learn things about yourself that you did not know, about your strengths and weaknesses, and all with a supportive team of coaches and team-mates to guide you along your Jiu Jitsu path. It is truly a life-changing decision to embark on this path with the Paragon family and one that you will not regret.

After some time, I decided to write an honest review of this Gym. From what I have seen, the Kickboxing side of the gym is amazing. Gus seems like a very skilled, and caring person. However, this is not a place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. I have never seen a disregard, for general safety. People were sparing with nose rings, and white belts were heel hooking without a care in the world. If Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller thinks it okay to run a gym like this, and award black belts to "so-called instructors", I would honestly question Ricardo Miller's logic and overall ethics. If you want to attend Goleta Paragon (SB Paragon is worse from what I hear), they run a good kickboxing school. However, please go to a more competent (school with qualified instructors). There are other BJJ schools and other kickboxing schools. After checking out this school, it makes me questions Ricardo Miller's judgment. If he thinks these BJJ instructors are "black belt material", well that is a poor reflection of himself. Save yourself the trouble, and attend a competent school. I'm sorry, I had to give an honest review.
If you train at Paragon and observed this behavior, and continue to train there you are part of the problem. By participating in Miller's circus, you contribute to part of the problem.

P. S Gus, the Kick boxing instructor, is legit. If Gus is still teaching, I would I highly recommend his lectures. Gus trained at Black House, so you know he is legit.

The coaches are amazing, so patient and helpful yet still firm with the children. Our grandson absolutely loves going and is learning all the time. He really looks up to coaches Dan, Joe, John, Jose and Wyatt.

Love this place! Feels like a family in there and I love the atmosphere. Coaches always take the time to work with you and are always patient. My 6 year old boy has been taking the kids kickboxing class with coach Dan for a few months now… his confidence has grown and technique improve so much.and the discipline he’s learning… its been amazing to see the his growth. Paragon is fun for our whole family. Highly recommend checking it out.

As first timers it was an awesome experience. My kids want to go back for more classes. I would highly recommend this place. Thanks coach Dan!
