Came here for the first time at night. There are no signs at the entrance saying this is a paid lot. There are sign posts every 20 feet that list the parking hours and rules. These are distractions and do not mention of it being a paid lot. Hidden in a wall of text, there are dark blue signs every hundred feet or so, on separate posts, as far from lights as possible. They cannot be read at night. This lot is maliciously designed to make people not realize it's not free public parking (normal rate is $1.50 /hr, probably not enough to pay for costs). Thanks for the welcoming $100 fine, City of Hermosa Beach. Just increase the hourly rate instead of burning your goodwill.
