Bakery Pavel's Backerei reviews
16A huge thank you to this wonderful bakery for working so hard on Christmas Eve, we managed to make it in for the last item left before they closed, their Pumpkin Brûlée Cake was out of this world delicious, it tasted like gingerbread cookies and pumpkin pie, very moist on the inside with a delicate crispy crust on top, baked to perfection and made with enormous love!
Stayed in Monterey for a few days and on our way out we woke up early to stop by this lovely little bakery! Cash only, very quick and nice service. Delicious pastries. The cinnamon rolls will keep an extra day and reheat well:)
Don't come here, you'll hate it. Just kidding. It's the best baking I've had in years, worth the dash for cash and lines. Shhhh!
Thank you to the owners! I know how hard you work and I am so grateful to have found this place! Amazing breads and pastries. You can taste a lifetime of experience in every bite! Thank you again, see you soon!
Their donuts are huge and delicious! I loved their cinnamon rolls too! So totally worth the wait to get in the door. All the people who work there are amazingly fast too! Very highly recommended!
Fabulous bakery items. My favorite is the enormous cinnamon rolls. The bread is also excellent. Prompt, friendly service. Go in the morning because they sell out. Check their new three days a week schedule. I'm not sure what the new days are. They serve coffee and also have a limited selection of sandwiches.
FYSA: Cash Only.
Best backerei in town! Every time I go, there's a line, and that's because it's always worth the wait. I've never waited more than 5 minutes once I've ordered. Definitely one of PGs hidden gems.
Such a great bakery! The smell when you step up got us excited for the baked goods we were about to buy. The shortbread cookies are AMAZING.
A decent bakery with the worst management on the planet. When the business became successful they decided to.cut back. And again. And again. So now they're open a total of maybe 8 or 10 hours per week divided between a couple of random days. If you do take the trouble of rearranging your life schedule to visit this place, there will be a long line and you'll wait for half an hour or more. At every step, the management has made the choice against good business. I have no idea what they've chosen instead, but they won't get another dollar of mine.
Only open a few mornings each week, but well worth the visit. The nine-grain farm bread is my favorite, and the pastries are a special treat.
Big, yummy pastries and breads. CASH ONLY! Limited hours! Long line. Check hours online as they change from time to time.
Visited from Connecticut and was looking for a quick breakfast. The line was out the door so we knew we found a good place! The line went fast and the bakery items were fabulous. We tried a chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll and danish. All amazing and so fresh!
The bakery hosts many delights! Gorgeous and tasty baked bread, coconut and peanut bombolinis (so rich and good!) and the sour cream cherry tart is simply delicious. I took away a star because they taped the box before they brought it out to me and as a result, I didn’t realize my order was incorrect until I got home. With that said, I would advise checking the order prior to leaving as they have limited hours. Otherwise, simply delicious and worth it every time I go home to Monterey.
Soooo worth the wait in line for this place! We got a few items and a mini epi for breakfast one morning and will definitely go back!
I got a regular croissant and chocolate croissant and liked them both! They stayed fresh for a few days after too and heating them up for a few seconds in the microwave brought them back to life! These pastries were huge! The croissants are a little more dense then most other croissants but still great!
The mini epi was very good and stayed soft for a few days after our purchase! Toasted with a little butter makes this bread taste so good!
Make sure you give yourself some time for the line and it will be hard to choose just a few but it is worth it!
Wildly popular local bakery. All breads good. Sandwiches also available. Generally sold out by noon. Closed Sun+Monday+Wed+Thurs.
