I needed thermostat replacement. I left my car, they took me home and two hours later it was done. A nice experience and i, ve used this location for all my cars. Good work, good satisfaction.

Bad experience. Took my car in for an inspection of a sound in my engine. They call me and tell me that my brakes are bad and measure the front at a 5. Since they were originally done at a dealership, I took it back to tell them. The dealership was super nice. They took off my tires and showed me step by step that my brakes are fine and measure them at an 8. I knew this place was lying. I’m glad I got a second opinion. Glad the dealership was willing to show me everything.

Wendy was our sales/assistance person and she was absolutely wonderful. Beautiful smile and courteous. Work was complete on schedule. Best service ever!

Ask for Wendy the manager. She is honest, straight forward, very knowledgeable, and exceeds in customer service. I highly recommend her. She is awesome.

Renting here is horrible experience
Waiting for hours even with reservations and still you can't get your rental.

Excellent! Work (oil change & flat tire repair) completed in the time frame as what was quoted after checking in for appointment. Always have my car repair or work at PepBoys

I booked Rental car from Pep boy Hertz- Artesia location. I got a voice mail 1 hours before pickup schedule time. Voice mail was "Sorry we do not have car available at this time with no reason" When i call back on the same number many time. No one answer my call. Please do not book your rental car from here.you can not rely on there service and no one will respond you.

Pep Boys auto repair center and Advanced Auto Parts have joined together in the same building! Along with a Hertz Uber rental center in the parking lot. Looks like a Tesla used car sales lot. NO CUSTOMER PARKING. Total chaos. Seriously, now all they need is a food truck, circus tent, and a carnival. How much more can the owner fit on his property.

After dropping my car off I received a call from Pep Boys regarding low coolant, a coolant leak, a missing component on the oil pan, this and that blah blah. I told them not to do anything and please just change my oil. An hour and a half after that I received absolutely no text that my car was finished, which prompted me to walk up to the desk, only to be told that my car had been done that entire time and there "must have been an issue with the system". The lady who helped me walked multiple times in front of me after my car had been finished. I received my complimentary inspection detail sheet and everything was fine. Coolant a little low and I needed a new air filter. Both of which I was more than happy to do. Note: my battery health tested 12/15. The next morning I leave for work and lo and behold my car isn't starting. Got it jumped, got to work, and it wouldn't start again. Called Pep Boys, they said I could tow it in, and that they couldn't send anyone 3/4 mile down the street to help jump it for me. I call AAA and they tell me that my battery is dead dead and should have been replaced weeks ago, and there was definitely no way it was testing at any health, let alone almost full health. I was going on a trip up the entirety of CA this weekend with the idea that my battery was at almost full health. Glad my car broke down in front of my house, before it broke down in the middle of CA.

Edit: Just checked my oil. They didn't even fill it halfway. Absolutely ridiculous.

The worst location. We bought a new tire and a couple days it went flat pluses we drove off with white stuff on the tire cause an employee said it won't come off instead of giving us another tire. It was a hot day and my husband was not happy. We went back to the same location and they change the tire and the tire went low again. So at this point we will just go to a different location since this pep boys can't get us a decent tire that will last, And no we haven't ran over anything.

Pep Boys on South St in Lakewood, CA, performed fast, and excellent Service on an Oil Change for Malibu car today, they keep you posted on a link, what is being performed on your car, and notify you instantly when it's done. They were done approx an hour!

Wow! I was had scheduled a time to pick up a rental car with hertz through Uber and they totally dropped the ball. I had 10: 00 am appointment and there was no one there to speak with. I put my information on a clipboard outside hoping someone would contact me. Eventually I was given a call after 5: 00 pm and told me that if I wasn’t read to pick the rental up at that moment I was being unreasonable. The customer service agent said most people are willing to wait around all day to get a rental from this location. Huge disrespect for customers and their time and it seems like no one wants to get anything done at this location.

They are a weird pep boys that seem to only do tires and rent cars to uber drivers through Hertz which is located inside and seems to be where most of the action was.

But the Pep Boys seems to be in a transition period they don't seem to be in normal business operation.

Edit: To clarify, I did not have a poor experience. They were nice to me,

I was actually doing business with the Hertz Car Rental inside the Pep Boys Store. But besides this store in tear down restoration mode. I still went inside.
To the absolute worst customer service I ever experienced in a car rental agency. I even had a reservation, spent $60 dollars on a Uber, cause they said they were out of cars. Told me I should of called ahead. So what was the confirmed reservation about?
Total bad attitudes everywhere, you can tell they were not trained properly.
Stay away from this location and this store!

My name is Douglas Hardeman. This Pep boys has excellent service. They treat me with respect, and talk to me like a human being. These are rough times and the mechanics are under a lot of pressure. You can’t Rush protection. As I’m writing this notation my car is being serviced and I still got time to make it to work. Whoop!

Great staff. Always friendly, well informed. They always greet me with a smile. Special thanks to Wendy and Saul for all there hard work and professionalism.

Poor customer service. Went to the their Cerritos branch for Oil change appointment. The customer assistant sat there on phone talking for 10 mins and then went inside to the garage and never came back. I waited there for 20 mins and left without oil change. What a waste of time.

Great staff and good service. Would be nice to have outdoor seating. There is no parts department here so don't come here looking for that
