Pet World:Tropical Fish

Very disappointed.had some cool fish.but tanks were dirty and there were no lids on any of the tanks.thats water contamination of the tank.walked out place was disgusting.

I have been a customer for over 20 years, staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Large selection of tropical, marine fish, plants, etc.

The fact that they don’t offer any warranty on their fish is scary probably wouldn’t buy anymore fish here for myself. Oh but they’ll tell you to bring in your water so they can test it no I want to make sure those fish I buy aren’t sick and show symptoms till 2 days later or something I rather get my fish from Elliot’s pet emporium know this now.

This place is only impressive to people who aren't educated on aquarium keeping or are beginners.

The fish quality is not amazing and they have have fish injected with dye to make a quick buck. They will happily sell you parasite infested things hoping you're too stupid to notice so they can get that money.

Maybe you are a little salty and in the market for marine fish, corals, or some rare specimen like a ray or shark. If that is the case this is the best store within almost 2 hours in any direction and IMHO one of the best spots in the state. But then again maybe you’re feeling a little fresh and nano tank fish or cichlids is more your jam— this is also your place. Bar none the selection, prices and service here are why I personally drive an hour and a half to shop here fairly regularly. They pack their fish in medical grade oxygen so no worries about the fish dying on the way home- they’ll be good all day. No rush floating where you battle between temps and the fish running out of air. No stress from traffic, because they pack them right. And they’re always incredible helpful. With a full line of supplies, and I mean full, every aquarium hobbyist owes it to themselves to check this place out.

Found this place by accident. I'm glad I did. Huge selection of fish, and live plants, it just blew me away. Fish and plants you just cant find in ordinary pet supply stores. I easily spent over an hour just checking everything out. I did kinda freak a little when I saw their male Betta containers stacked. They breathe air, that's what the hole on top is there for. Stack them, you can limit their air supply. Other than that, Super awesome! Cant wait to go back

Amazing store! Best healthy/quality fish, and an amazing staff. Super helpful and super friendly. Love this place, they always have everything you can think of in your fish hobby.

Worst place ever, bought 3 cichlids and 2 days later they all died, owner blame my other smaller fish that they killed them
Owner was rude and cursing at me blaming me that it was my fault fish died that also it could be my fish tank That’s contaminated, which I doubt because I have had my tank set up for over 6 months and my other fish have never died… I Will never buy fish from them nor recommend buying fish from them,

Pet world has gone down hill, lots of dead fish in there tanks and service is lousy I had been a long time customer but won't shop there anymore.last straw was when I went there and one of the owners angel ignored me completely and served a customer that walked in like 15-20 minutes later rude is an understatement.they will sell you anything even if it's not compatible with what you have.

Been here a bunch of different times it's basically like a mini Sea world I like looking at all the sea creatures it's awesome
I do plan to start having my own fish collection and this is the place I'm going to go to get my supplies

Awesome selection, and knowledgeable. Some employee (s) can do better on customer service. People buy fish and really care for their fish and the hum drum attitude just doesn't work.

The majority of the staff is great. Place is always busy.

I will not purchase fish again! I've had a healthy fish tank with angelfish, rams neon tetras, decided to add more fish bought 14 fish and every single one has died not very happy spent $140 dollars what a waste of my money. Don't recommend fish from this store.

Ich/ick buyer beware! (Infected fish!) unsanitary workplace.

The first time I went I purchased a Java fern, a day later I noticed spots all over my betta and my schooling fish. I began treatment, and eventually got rid of the Ich/Ick. Had to buy multiple supplies to effectively get rid of the Ich. I bought aquarium salt, Ich meds, etc, from a nearby pet store retailer. I began trying to figure out where the Ich came from.

About a month later I decided I wanted another Java Fern bundle, which is when I figured out where the Ich came from. I happily purchased the plant, brought it home and rinsed it, and introduced it to my 20 gallon long tank. (nothing else was introduced to the tank in that timeline) well, again, a day or two later, my tank was infested with ich. I'm currently treating it to get rid of it, again. However, I'll never buy from pet world again, I just wanted to warn everyone to know what they're dealing with.

The tanks are dirty with various dead fish in various tanks. They dip their hands into one tank, and without washing hands, dip their arms into another tank. Thus spreading Ich across tanks.

With all the workers you would think they would have clean tanks.

It's extremely stressful having to deal with Ich, both for me and my fish community, plants, shrimp, snails, etc etc.

Never had this issue at the nearby petsmarts, Petco, etc.

Would highly recommend Elliot's Pet Emporium, which is down the street, with a much cleaner, friendlier, and healthier environment for the fish and the workers.
Or Petsmart which is also right down the street. (When a retail chain treats their fish better, you know something is wrong)

Surprisingly VERY big compared to the other aquarium pet stores nearby. The one that is about 10 or so minutes over, I forgot what it's called, but were only saltwater fishes. This one HAD a variety of fishes. It's sad they didn't have the type of janitor fish I was looking for but other than that they had nice staff though I can tell they were also dedicated to fish care as they were visibly upset when we told them the size of our tank but they just did it. The funny thing is, they sell painted glass fish and they are fish that were manually painted by humans. All in all, they are reasonably prized and have a variety of fish to choose from. Their filters are a bit overprized and you can't quite price match them.

Bought a discus here a week into putting it in my tank it killed all my other fish! This is horrible, something is in their water
