Pet Store Petco reviews
15This is the third time where I’ve ordered dog food canidae online for pick up where the bag given to me at pick up is around a year expired. This is not isolated to this location it’s happened with a couple delivery and other pick up locations. I’ve gotten so used to it now i check before leaving and thankfully saw that the bag i was just given expired over a year ago. When i told the the attendant she responded initially with “no those are all new” when it was printed right on the bag. Thankfully she came over and saw and exchanged the bag. I’m only leaving a bad review, as i hate doing so, as this has been the reason why my dog has gotten sick a few times.
This Petco’s service sucks! IF there is a person up front to check you out, it will take forever. There was an employee’s child behind the register’s today playing and running around which was irritating. I have picked up multiple cans of cat food and almost everytime I finally get checked out they tell me “o we can’t sell you this one”- then why are they out on the shelves? Please make this Petco better with more staff, helpful staff, better inventory, and no children behind the counters
Emails kept me up to the minute of delivery and the package came even a little earlier but I was alerted
It’s either employees are not getting paid enough or it’s time to hire more because no one seems to be working. On a good day, one cashier is working
The worst experience I’ve ever had,
They just take the money and don’t care anything else.
They hot my puppy tested and closed the door and 5 days after they called me that your puppy was tested positive for Giardia.
Puppy had diarrhea for all the weekend and they had test results after 24 hours but called me back after 5 days
Finally they have someone who knows what they are doing at the aquarium section. The aquarium in this location used to look so sad. Dirty tank, dead fish, low or out of stock on anything below average selection just to name a few. Which lead me to either go to Tustin or Orange location or PetSmart at Market Place. But not any more. I went in a few Saturday ago and saw a young lady with purple or blue hair doing water changes. I immediately notice how much nicer the tank looks. I spoke with her and found out she was recently transferred from another store because this location apparently has been missing an aquatic person for a long time which explains a lot. I complimented her on how nice the tanks look and told her I am glad she is here now. Good job girl!
Store was clean and well stocked, staff was not helpful but I was able to find everything on my own.
Healthy saltwater stock (can be rare for big box pet stores). Friendly staff and convenient curbside pickup service. Cleanliness and overall layout of store is not the best.
I had very bad service experience with “M’ Emily she is not good to my little tea cup she didn’t complete the service last time saying puppy wasn’t good during grooming and didn’t allow her to continue the service and this time I made sure the dog is calm and gave her something to ensure she will be calm and she refused to take her saying she is afraid she will pass out …this is the last time to give this company any of my money they are ranked as horrible In my opinion
Love driving 20 minutes just to find out that they’re sold out of flea combs, something that any decent pet store should always have in stock. Turns out that this is a recurring issue and they’re always sold out of them. Lots of empty shelves and stocking issues. Very nice employees here, but Petco as a company is so ridiculously incompetent.
Good store for aquatic supplies, covers everything any home aquarium needs, lots of fish selection also
My dog Pebbles has gone to groomers for years and just recently we began to groom Pebbles at home since it has gotten so expensive recently, so Pebbles is quite used to groomers and being groomed. Unfortunately, as the summer months got even hotter and my husband and I were busier than ever, we decided to bring Pebbles to Petco for a quick groom since we were both so busy, and since we did not feel comfortable cutting his hair as short as might be necessary for the hot summer months. When I brought Pebbles to the Petco immediately Patricia was quite short with me. She barely looked at the photo I tried to show her of how I would like to see his grooming turn out. I warned her that Pebbles is a bit anxious and does not like to be inside of the cage, so she informed me of an extra $15 charge to keep him out of the cage. Given I already planned to pay $65, $80 sure seemed like a lot, but I reluctantly agreed because I really wanted to get him groomed. Patricia gave me such horrendous vibes, but I trusted her to give Pebbles the utmost care, to no avail. Within an hour I received a call that Pebbles had "tried to bite her. " This makes me think that she either abused Pebbles, put him in the cage when she had already agreed not to (and charged me for!), or simply didn't feel like finishing her job. In the many years Pebbles visited his groomer and the many times we have groomed him ourselves he has never once tried to bite anybody. She claimed to have bathed him and brushed his teeth, but he stunk all over even worse than he had before I dropped him off. Pebbles was clearly very nervous and acting unlike himself, and as soon as we got home he denned under the couch all day. I have no idea what Patricia did to the poor guy to make him act that way, I have never seen him so anxious before. It truly broke my heart to see him that way, and frustrated me not only because of the experience, but because of the huge waste of time and money I put into Petco that day. All in all, I paid $60.46 for Pebbles to be traumatized, demonized, and stinkier. I would not trust this Petco grooming service with any animal, especially not my own after what they did to my poor Pebbles.
So I walked in yesterday July 17,2023 and I bought the co² pump for my aquarium and the sales rep was placing the demo box in my bag and not paying attention, when I said something about it she asked her coworker and he said he'll grab it from the office and never came back and I got side tracked with the last minute cash register product racks that I paid and never got my co² pump set up which was $49.99. I wasn't paying attention and neither were Petco associates.
People are great, selection is great, adoptable animals are great. What gets a star dropped is WHY IS THE CHECKOUT AREA SO DARK AND SAD!? Install some high lumen fluorescents! Every time I come here I feel like I’m doing a back alley drug deal for cat food. Like, why? Do better. Brighten it tf up.
