Peter's Steakhouse reviews
16 In my opinion, it is way overpriced for the value that you get.
While pricing is outrageous, I can't comment much on it - everything is expensive these days.
However, the quality of the food is definitely subpar - overcooked meat on one plate and completely rare on a other for the same meal ordered, as an example.
Staff and the owner were friendly and tried their best to accommodate us, however.
Decent little spot with a historic touch.
My wife and thought this place looked interesting on our drive up the OLD Sac and decided to give it a touch.
Service was very fast and friendly.
The historic pictures and literature to read hanging on the walls was very fascinating and fun to read.
The place was not overcrowded and there was plenty of seating, although my booth seat was blown out and uncomfortable.
We ordered a steak dinner and a salad. The steak was cooked perfect medium rare and my horseradish appeared home made.
Flavor was bland and price was steep. (except the cream corn was amazing)
Pricing could be a reflection of current the economy, the state of California or other factors the restaurant can not control.
We would probably come back and try different menu items because there was some variety to choose from.
A wonderful eclectic family owned restaurant. The delicious food was served quickly and efficiently.
After 30years of driving by this place I finally made it inside. Great atmosphere and super nice family owners.
Salmon filet was delicious as well as the cream corn. Server was attentive and met all expectations.
How anyone can give more stars is a wonder. From making reservations weeks earlier for a birthday to actually having dinner, service is terrible and food is not worth two dollar signs. Wait time for any service while not at even half occupancy is ridiculous. The staff appear to be friends, neighbors of the owner than actual competent servers. Not worth the ratings and money.
Great prime rib! So tender and flavorful. Service was excellent. Booths need a little remodeling but everything else was excellent.
The food is excellent, the atmosphere is historical and amazing. The staff is friendly, attentive. This is not somewhere that you plan to eat in a hurry. Enjoy the slow pace of what ever meal you are eating.
Took my mom to Peter's Steak House after a car show. This was the first time I had ever been here. It was on a recommendation matter by someone at the car show. We were the first customers that day. I looked around the place. You can feel the history in this old riverside building. However, the decor is confusing with sports posters, old timey photos, Japanese cabinets, and a hodge podge of different stained glass.
We started with the crawdad cocktail. The flavor of the crawdads were good, but you could tell that they were previously frozen so the texture was a bit off. The cocktail sauce was tasty.
I had the prime rib sandwich. It was delicious! Tender and flavorful. Mom had the steak sandwich. She said it was delicious and tender as well.
Two things.
1) Although it has a full bar, I was disappointed that they do not offer beers on tap.
2) While it touts itself as a steak house, it is more of a family restaurant that serves steaks (albeit good steaks). You will not get the great sides that are customary at a nice steak house.
I will definitely return to experience their dinner menu in the future. I look forward to coming back to this quirky and historic place.
Very nice historic room. Good, not great prime rib dinner. I'll stop in again when I'm in the area around dinner time. We were able to be served when the upper end restaurants in Lodi had 45 minute waits for a table.
The prime rib melt sandwich was disgusting! We rolled it up in a napkin and threw it in the bathroom trash. Smelled of old grease. Clearly not fresh. I can’t speak for the dinner menu, but don’t eat lunch here. We were the only dining customers on a Saturday lunch hour. What a disappointment!
The most amazing Prime Rib I've ever had the pleasure to stuff in my mouth. The sides were on point as well as the service. From start to finish, an outstanding dining experience. I will see y'all very soon.
-Tio Tone.
What do Peter's Steakhouse for spamfest it was okay nothing great. Decided to have lunch there sat in our booth for a half hour no one ever took our order only one waitress. Went home and had a bologna sandwich
Glad we decided to stop and check out a new to us place. Definitely a locals place, super friendly environment locals and staff, food was great as well as the adult beverages! Will definitely stop in again when passing through.
The food, for the most part, is pretty good. I've been there multiple times, and each time has been for 2: 30-3hrs. Be prepared not to leave any time soon.
The owner was very kind and friendly to speak to. Food was delicious and my Husband and I enjoyed ourselves
