The best shop in Escondido! Peterson's has been around what seems like forever, and only get better. Their are huge! So, definitely can share. My favorite are the jelly filled and chocolate bar. Bring cash to for payment.

My coworkers down in downtown San Diego always get so excited when I bring them Peterson’s Doughnuts. Even people from Chula Vista have heard of Petersons. This last time, I had to cut the doughnuts in half because they are getting bigger and bigger every time I go.

Great donuts weird way to use debt card though you have to withdraw 20 they charge u a 1.75 to do so then pay the cash they give you so I suggest bringing cash

Out of most donuts and do not take card, they have to pull out cash from an atm in their kitchen with a large fee.had only chocolate donuts and weird cake donuts.just wanted some glazed stuff

We went to Peterson’s this morning at 3AM and the experience was wonderful! The most kind and sweet man was working the register at the time. He made our early morning excursion a happy, memorable one! Thank you so much! I highly recommend Peterson’s for the experience as well as the tasty donuts and croissants.

Peterson's Donut Corner is a definite go to spot for donuts and baked goods in Escondido. The donuts are fresh and tasty always. They have a great variety to offer. My Favorite are the cake donuts plain or maple frosted and the custard-filled donuts. Cake donuts are how I measure a donut shop. Peterson's are not greasy or overly sweet like other donut shops. The yeast donuts remind me of the ones my mother used to make. Service is friendly and prices are great. And it's a locally owned spot as well.

Peterson donuts shop is pretty popular in Escondido CA. Their donuts looks little bigger than others and taste so delicious. I wish they will sell coffee to go with donuts in the future. Plus, they are open 24hrs.

This place has been a staple in Escondido since the mid-1980s. Reasonably priced, great selection, always fresh and tasty. Their peanut butter cookies are off the charts! It helps that their staff is awesome. Only downside is you might have to wait in line because they are popular.

I used to really like this place but not so much anymore. They charge you 3 1/2 dollars for a fake ‘atm fee’ and then your bank also charges you 3 1/2 dollars. So if you want to buy a 2 dollar donut you end up paying 9 dollars unless you have cash. Also, tonight I got a maple bar, which usually are really good, but the inside was dry and tasteless and frosting was dried out and crusty. I patiently waited in line again, explained, and was told that the donuts has been made that morning, so I guess they were over 14 hours old. I asked if I could have an apple fritter instead, thinking that it would not be so dried out, because fritters usually last a little bit longer. The girl helping me said no, and then I even offered to pay the difference in price, because I think the apple fritter costs a little more. She said, no, you just have to buy a new one, because you already took a bite out of the donut that you already have, you can’t return it. I thought, this girl must be new, and when she asks someone else for help, surely they will quickly help me exchange the bad donut for a good one, especially if I’m willing to pay the extra price. But no, they wanted to just replace it with another maple bar from the same batch from this morning. So, I left with another bad maple bar, which I did not end up eating.

Legit best donut place in the world! I live over 2 hours away and we will plan a family day to come out for donuts! Love LOVE LOVE this place!

Peterson’s Donuts are legendary. If you are passing through you have to try them. They are huge and delicious. Their cronuts are absolutely amazing. I don’t have donuts often but when I do Peterson’s are the best.

I am surprise with this place of business and how they are robing the customers by forcing them to pay
Cash only?
They ask me for my debit card if I don’t have cash?
So I agreed
They charged me $1.75. For transactions fee even if I give them my Debit card not amax?
Something is wrong and doesn’t add up?
Mr Peterson you are not paying any fees for excepting ATM cars why the consumer is?
We need to look into this!
I believe you might have to refund all of your customers the transaction fees that you have charged them!

Amazing donuts! My son and I made a special trip to try these donuts and it was well worth the drive. My favorite was the butter log and my son loved the chocolate zebra. He also got a ham and cheese croissant which was delicious!

Update some 4 years later for 2021.

Old Fashioneds here are still my favorite. Everything else is good. Really wish I didn't have to always come with cash.

Excellent donuts and baked goods. Every item is freshly made and tasty. Best donuts all around. They have 24hour service.

If you're in the Escondido/North County area, this is a must go to place for donuts and muffins! Staff is always super nice and friendly!
