Pet's Rest Cemetery and Crematory reviews
6If you need their service, you're probably already in deep grief and mourning. They couldn't have been kinder. Because of their busy schedule, they were unable to pick up my dog. So I drove down to their office in Colma. I was assisted with getting my dog out of my car. Treated so wonderfully.
I chose this particular memorial service for my son because of its proximity to my residence.
On January 28,2021, my son and I were crossing the street. He walked behind me, not in front. We had the right of way when, unexpectedly, a driver made a right turn and struck my son. In that moment, my heart shattered, and I was in shock. The driver never stopped and continued driving. I immediately picked him up; he was trembling, shaking, and bleeding. I rushed him to the SPCA, but sadly, he didn't survive.
The SPCA recommended another memorial service, but I opted for this one. The previous reviews of this memorial service didn't deter me.
The driver, Javier, who collected my son from the SPCA, showed remarkable kindness. Carlos displayed the same level of compassion. Carlos wasn't in a rush; he allowed us the time to be with my son. My family, my partner, and I were present for the cremation. Carlos explained the process meticulously and handled my son with the utmost respect.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude to both of them for their outstanding work. They truly comprehend the depth of our grief as dog parents when losing someone so special and close to us.
The lady at the front desk, whom I believe is named Teresa, does deserve mention. The recent review highlighting feeling rushed is accurate, but I don't think she did it intentionally. To me, she understood my loss and expressed genuine sympathy.
In sum, I unequivocally give this place a 5-star rating. To anyone reading my review, please don't be swayed solely by others' opinions. Give this place a chance, and follow your heart's guidance. I wanted my son to be with my loved ones who have already passed away rather than remaining in a freezer. He was cremated the very next day before being picked up.
I have been a vet tech for 23 years and worked with many pet cemetery and cremation services. All have had compassion, but Pet's Rest stands out. Carlos, Javier, and Theresa have helped me beyond compare during my personal times of needing cremation services. I'd like to extend personal gratitude to Carlos. Twice now he has gone above and beyond. First with my 16yr old dog Loki 2 years ago. And recently with my Granny Chi. You saw me sitting alone in the cemetery and checked in with me and I am forever grateful. You helped me and Granny Chi and I can't thank you enough.
Losing my pet cat David and trying to find a cremation place. Pet Rest provided the best service. I’m very grateful. Staffs are nice and patient. Hope all pets can rest in peace……
Thank you for cremating my cat: (I was worried that we would have to wait to make an appointment to go and cremate my cat but you could just walk in pay and get the ashes later, we miss you Tommy.
We've been coming to Pet's Rest for years and they've always been kind and sympathetic. Carlos is great! We always do private whitmessed cremations and he's always sensitive to our feelings. They've made the experience as positive as possible and I've loved that they allow us to see our babies through to the end - it feels so much more right for me to bring in our pet's body, be there when s/he is put into the oven, and be there when s/he's taken out and put into one of the lovely wooden boxes there and leave with the ashes same day, no worry about mixups, no waiting for them to be returned and worrying about them getting lost in the mail.
Now that we're moving and will be too far away to use them, I'm worried I won't be able to find another place as wonderful and that makes the process feel so right to help us bid our babies fairwell when we run out of time with them: (
