Phil's BBQ reviews
18Just feel the food isn't what it used to be. For the price it's ok but not a must visit place for me anymore when in town.
One of the best dining experiences I've had in an airport. Good food (actually good food — not just good for an airport), friendly service. I will happily go back any time I'm flying out of Terminal 2.
Was at this one in the San Diego Airport.
Their LIITs will DEFINITELY knock you out. Absolutely
A great place to eat before a flight out of Terminal 2. The pulled pork is the best I've had, recommended.
Actually a decent value for the money considering it's airport food. Large sharable portions, or enough to soothe the hungry man and destress travel.
Vincent was amazing, I didn’t know what kind of cocktail I wanted so he made me a personalized cocktail and it was absolutely fabulous. He was on top of everything and he Made me feel absolutely welcome and super comfortable.
I grew up in Memphis, home of Pulled Pork BBQ and Phil’s was one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. Sauce was excellent also.
This place is comfortable but the rooms are small, the pool is only 3 ft deep all the way around, only 1 grill to use for the entire hotel to use, and no hot tub. I'm sure is in a convenient location to everything and valet parking only. I'm
Just not use to having less for more. Still comfortable tho.
If you have some time to kill at SAN airport this is a great place to catch some beet and food. Hazy IPA is tasty. Staff is very friendly
From Whittier. 150miles away. Best BBQ I've had in awhile. Ordered quite a few things off menu and nothing disappointed! Thanks for the good food and my only regret is not coming in with more of an empty stomach to match how bigs my eyes were on that dang menu!
Solid barbecue. I went in with low expectations, because airport food. We ended up ordering another whole dish of meat (just the meat) because it was delicious. Fries are also very good.
Service was excellent.
Airport food prices so no complaints. Am partial to the full.menu at the actual restaurant.
Staff is great despite the many rushes. Good leople.
These people were extra patient with diet limitations. They actually cleaned the grill for my sensitive diet friend without us having to ask (we never would’ve). Food was great, portions were huge. Eat here, great service, snakalakin’ food! My wife says to try the red blend at the bar. 6 bucks cheaper than the cab and tastes better.
The most yummy pork rib tips and brisket. Loved visiting this spot on a solo visit - fun conversations at the bar and the food made it beyond worthwhile.
Had dinner at the San Diego airport location and was blown away by the service! Vincent was amazing! It’s not often you run into world class service at an airport restaurant but this was certainly the case during my visit. Can’t wait to come back!
So being from Texas (I know yall think we invented BBQ we didn't, we just perfected it), I thought I'd try Phil's BBQ at the San Diego Airport. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which was a little dry and stringy, but not a bad sandwich. So, to add a little more flavor and moisture to the meat I thought I would ask for some more sauce. There was this young lady straightening some condiments right next to the service counter. I asked her if she could get me a little more BBQ sauce and she told me I'd have to go wait in line. Seeing about six people waiting in line to order I quickly realized my food would be cold by the time I got a tiny extra cup of sauce. I passed back by the lady and politely said there's a line and I didn't want my food to get cold. She still made no attempt to help me. Now, all of you know customer service is as important as taste. She could have taken 15 seconds to get me a small cup of sauce and elected to do only what she had to. This was on 08/13/2021 at about 9: 45am. Manager, take note, some of your employees are not representing this eatery very well. That's the way I saw it.
I really enjoy Phil's BBQ and this location at the San Diego Airport is no different. Portion sizes are quite large. Great way to fill up your belly before a flight! If you enjoy BBQ you won't be disappointed by Phil's.
