Beautiful Philz location with killer drip coffee!

I am a Philz fan and have been for a while. This location delivers on the quality front, and is located conveniently next to the Americana and Glendale Galleria. I got the Jacob’s Wonderbar and it definitely packs a good punch. Not sure how they make a drip coffee with such thick consistency and richness in flavor, but it’s definitely worth coming to!

My only complaints with this location: beyond regular wait times. Usually a long line at this location, but even on this visit with no line it took almost 10 min to grab a single coffee. The staff are incredibly chatty so I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend it for an indoor study spot (unless you have good noise-cancelling headphones haha), but it looks like they’re having a good time behind the bar!

Stopped here on a whim to get an early morning coffee due to good reviews and it being within walking distance. This is a very creative store with a cool menu, but only offering pour over is a bit disappointing. Good quality coffee but I'd have appreciated a choice between drip, pour over, and espresso. Oh, and please, no mint leaves in the coffee.

One of my GO TO places. For everyone complaining about the long lines, they offer mobile ordering and it takes 10-15 min for them to make it, so you can order your coffee on your way to avoid waiting in line. In the mornings they are extremely busy, so make sure to take that into account when ordering. Their coffee is the best, i prefer iced over hot. Next time you visit ask for Tina’s special (aka jacobs w hazelnut, coco in the filter, medium cream and light honey?).

It’s my first time to visit Philz
The inside is kind of pretty dark not sure wether their interior design style! Aside from the light. They are making fresh coffee. They have 4 baristas are working at the same time. You don’t really need to wait too long like other ppl comment on the review or maybe they improve their productivity!
They have lots of variety but my friend recommended Philtered Soul Cold Brew

The drinks were great, I ordered the oatmeal cookie drink I found out about Tiktok, I loved it and my partner got the mocha tesora which he also loved! The drinks are 5/5. However, i am not a fan of how disorganized and confusing setup of their customer counter. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a large customer counter, which appeared to be the central point for all the pick up order is. However, since most of the people are picking up the order everyone stands at the wall, thus leaving the new customers who are about to place the order confused and thinks they should line up there as well.

I’ve gone twice in the late morning around 10/11am. It didn’t look super busy but there’s always a line. Only a few ppl in front of me and it took 20 mins to get my order in. Once I got to the cashier she was busy preparing hot food orders. Please don’t assign the only cashier to multi task. One person needs to be taking orders at all times to get the line moving. If you have time to kill then come anytime and you’ll have your drink in about 30 mins. My break is not that long and by the time I got my drink I had to run back to work. Also, the drink I wanted wasn’t even available by the time I got to the cashier. Very disappointed in the mocha. It’s a hot cocoa with coffee. Flavor is not very good. Mocha sauce is easy to make. Please improve this one. Mochas are staple drinks. The mojito drink is very good. That’s the only reason I’m giving this place a 3 stars. It’s a little on the sweet side even tho I asked for less sweetness but the flavor is spot on. The service was very friendly but way too slow.

The cashier left somewhere and we were waiting for her for 10 minutes simply to place an order. I guess she was collecting an order for someone else, but aren’t some other people supposed to do that while the cashier could be taking orders? By the time we finally made an order, there was already a big line behind us.

Best coffee in California. Just be prepared to wait. Often packed, and staff does not rush quality. They do it right.

We really enjoyed our coffee, but the service was soooo slow. Also, there’s a lack of clarity in the menu: they could simply explain how it works (what can be added to the drink, how to choose, etc) - at the moment there’s just a list of plain black coffees with some recommendations.

Long line but worth it. Huge range of filter coffee and you get to customize to your own preference!

This line here is out of control I’ve been waiting to order for over ten minutes I have no idea why it’s taking this long. They’re almost out if pastries and it’s 4 pm. Granted it’s Presidents’ Day and it must be busy but considering there are only 3 people ahead of me in line and I’ve waited this long so far is really giving me a terrible first impression. I don’t get it are they doing online orders before anyone in person? There are three people in the kitchen. I just payed 6 for a large cold brew I hope it’s worth it. Looks like all the seats are taken inside there is outdoor seating. I know Philz generally for their work-friendly environment, you come to Philz and get a coffee and they have chargers and Wi-Fi and restrooms you can use. This location the music is kinda loud. The interior has a couch and a big desk where various people are working in different things. I’m waiting for my cold brew now and I see a bunch of orders for what I’m assuming is online orders and I just don’t get it because if it were me I would focus on the folks who actually come in the store first instead of getting a bunch of drinks done. Oh wow I just tried my drink and it raised my 3 star review to a 4 star!
When all is said and done the staff here does seem quite friendly and it makes me forgive them for the wait time. They’re probably short staffed like most places are these days and I understand that.

Slow. Like, insanely slow. Like, the store wasn’t busy at all, and getting a drink still took over 15-minutes. Chai Latte wasn’t great. Customer service was interesting. I can’t say that I’d come back here to Philz again. Was just meh all the way around.
