Pho Banh Mi reviews
18 I only had an hour to eat and found this restaurant by chance. This would be 5 stars but I found the restaurant dirty. There were food crumbs on my bench chair and scraps of food under the table. The table was greasy looking so I used a napkin as my place mat. If it wasn't for my companion, I would have left the restaurant.
I ordered the steak and meatball pho. The steak (high quality than most restaurants) was tender but the strips were so long that it was hard to eat - too much for a mouthful and no knife to cut the meat strips. Soup was flavorful and hot. Meatballs were seasoned well.
The regular vermicelli bowl was presented well. It was enough for one person.
I ordered the traditional spring rolls which never came, although I reminded them of my order when I was eating. The traditional egg roll finally came with my check. They said I had to take it since it was already made. I did not want to make a hassle so I asked for a take out box. I ate the spring rolls the next night. I covered the spring rolls with a wet napkin and microwaved it. It still tasted fresh and the lettuce, etc.weren't wilted. It would have better if it were eaten fresh.
I ate here solo and they charged me a 10% surcharge which is reserved for parties of 2 or more. I was just one person. When I asked them about it they feigned ignorance and said “2 and 1 is the same” and shrugged.
Pho was overly salty and overpriced. Terrible spot with shady practices, avoid.
I ordered a take out even vegan/vegetarian the food have good flavor and I ordered everything vegan and vegetarian. I appreciate the flavor and service. Thank you.
Had the vegan pho, vegetarian banh mi and spring roll. Food was okay. Service was very quick.
The items on the menu posted outside are not on the menu that they put on your table. And most of the items on the menu that they put on your table are not available either, don’t ask them about the discrepancies, you will be told in an assertive and impolite tone “no American food”
I submitted an online order December 1 at 12: 0 one said my order was ready. I reached the restaurant and the front staff person said their online orders were down the front. Person told me it would take 10 minutes to receive my food at took past 10 minutes it took about 25 to 30 minutes to receive my food, on top of that I had to give my order back multiple times because the order was incorrect. I get home and the eggrolls that I had ordered were supposed to be vegetarian they were pork I’m allergic to pork I tried calling the restaurant there’s no answer. I am very disappointed with the service. I spoke to the manager and he was very dismissive when I had asked for at least a refund for the inconvenience, so I didn’t even have to get the food because my time wasted this is unprofessional I tried giving the restaurant a call and no one seems to pick up the phone. Very disappointed.
The Asian older guy with glasses is rather arrogant, with a strange, contemptuous look. He shoved the menu under my nose without looking at me, right in my face. At this moment he was looking at other people. I didn’t hear any hello either. Quite an idiotic atmosphere.
Extremely rude service, just okay food, for Palo Alto prices. They wouldn’t follow up with any asks (like extra bowls). One waiter had no manners - when customer is trying to exit, would not let them go first. We were trying to take home a leftover bowl of noodles and the waiter cleared it without asking. I told him and he just walked away and didn’t apologize. 2 stars because they did bring the food and the interior was fine.
Fantastic bahn mi! Crisp shell with fresh and complementary flavors on the inside. The owner was super nice and let us in early for a quick bite at the best seats in the house. Will be back to try other items.
Very good service and very good food. Good menu with lots of options. Everything is really fresh. I’ve been here a few times and I’ll be going back.
Ordered a banh mi for pickup and was given spring rolls by accident (see photo). When I called from home, was told they can’t offer a refund but a store credit in the future. Very disappointing
Great place to grab some good pho & Banh Mi to go, fast & the service was good. Love the atmosphere.
The food is ok but not worth the price, especially when they charge an extra $0.85 per to-go item? ! Then the tax is applied on top of those surcharges. It’s not advertised anywhere on their website. We purposely didn’t order from Menufy with their $1.50 service fee and called to order from the restaurant directly.
The pork in the vermicelli plate was half gristle and fat. I would go to LeQuy on Middlefield instead.
I wanted to like the Hainan chicken but it was so tough and flavorless. The rice wasn't chicken rice it was only steamed. The add on crispy spring roll was fantastic. Wish the chicken had a dark sauce. Overpriced for what I received.
Tldr: everything is just okay here (both food and service). The safest option to eat is Pho (at least I didn't feel like I wasted money on pho).
The restaurant decoration is pretty nice and cute. I liked it. We sat right next to the window so we got a nice view. I expected service to be better than a typical Vietnamese restaurant because of where this restaurant is but it's pretty much the same. Servers are not friendly or super helpful.
We ordered 1 special pho, 3 different vermicelli bowls (#44 special, #47 fish cake and shrimp, #46b vegan).
- Pho was decent, the broth was flavorful and they used the type of noodle I like.
- Vermicelli bowls didn't get good responses from anyone in my party, especially the vegan one - my mom didn't even want to take the left over home. Fish sauce and meat weren't flavorful. So I don't recommend it.
I recently ordered from the restaurant, and unfortunately, I encountered an unpleasant incident involving the cook’s behavior towards the delivery driver. While the quality of the food was satisfactory, I was disappointed by the cook’s rudeness towards the dasher. It’s important for all staff members to exhibit professionalism and treat every individual with respect. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issue, ensuring a more positive experience for both customers and delivery drivers in the future.
I ordered Fish cake and shrimp vermicelli bowl. It was okay but not amazing. It is more like on the bland side. My family ordered other dishes which were also not flavorful enough to our taste; even the grilled meat were not well-marinated, it was bland again.
Service was okay. The indoor and outdoor designs are nice and lovely even though it is a little bit narrow inside.
Literally a fly in our soup. Server took it away.with no comment or apology. Imo they should have thrown the whole batch out. He just brought another bowl with no comment.
Oh well.
