Pho La Jolla reviews
15I waited 23 minutes to be served and the dude took waters to, took orders from other people, just apparently forgot I existed. This was a regular for me, and it is not anymore.
Racist……. Towards black people. Rude and disgusting behavior. You should be ashamed of yourself. Rude, woman today towards a black student. I heard what you said to the young lady ordering. Snatched her card and threw it back on the counter to her. Discrimination isn’t O. K, and you should know better. I wish I could give you a zero because this place is disgusting and guess what I will leave this review everyday and your rating is going to go in the toilet!
Pho always tastes great! Super fast service even when it's peak dinner time. Thanks! We'll be back soon B-)
Just plain delicious. Service was very prompt for me. Only bad thing is the $15 minimum on credit cards, but if you can't find $15 worth of food to get then that's on you.
This is your typical Vietnamese restaurant located across UCSD. Open til 11p. Open tables. The food is good and if you don't know what to order, the wait staff will help you out. The service was very good and the wait was miniscule.
Anyone that likes this place or rates it highly is out of their minds and never tried real pho. Overpriced and bland.avoid.
Update! Sept 2022-The service has greatly improved from my review 4 years ago. There's a young woman that is not only very attentive but asks pertinent questions and makes good suggestions. She's part of the reason we keep coming back. So I raised my rating to 5 stars!
2018-I think over the last year or so there's new management or ownership and the wait staff aren't as tuned in or helpful as they were a year or so ago. There was a nice tall asian guy (whose gone now) that used to have good suggestions, was polite, gracious and helpful. Now it's harder to get their attention and they just seem to be there to get things over with. I used to love this place, but not so much anymore, The food still okay.
This place is great! They give you a large portion and the servers are so nice! They even have a robot that will come and deliver your food!
There was a baby cockroach in my girlfriends food and they wanted me to pay for the food even though we didnt want it after the cockroach.
The pho here is pretty good, there’s a vegetarian option which is great.the spring rolls are also tasty! It’s a little bit pricey in my opinion but if you’re looking for a big portion of good comforting food, this is the place to go.
I don’t understand why this place has so many low reviews. Literally the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in a while as well as delivered super hot and super fresh. Unique flavors too
Big pho portion, good broth, the rice noodle is rice noodle. There was more meat in my pho than a steak at red lobster. The speed at which the food was served couldn't be more college friendly
My wife had raved about this place because of the shrimp salad. We went with high hopes. Those high hopes were dashed all to hell. The rice I chose was clumpy and dry with one shrimp and a few dry pcs of chicken. My wife loved her salad. My daughter had requested a ban mi sandwich. I ordered the BBQ pork. When it came out I checked it for meat. There was nothing but fat there. The owner said it was pork and insisted that it was bbq'd. Don't go there if you want good Vietnamese food.
It’s a affordable place to eat Vietnamese cuisine.pan fried rice and Szechuan beef Noodles are great.and must try their chicken pho
I'm a bun bo hue fan. Their Bun bo hue is the worst bun bo hue I have got ever. It's just the pho broth with some cheap korean ramen bags sauce. However, this noodle should be totally different taste. It's awful. Totally don't worth their prices. Bad experience ever with vietnamese food.
But their service is good anyway.
