Pier 23 Cafe Restaurant & Bar reviews
21I worked here, I left about 4 years and 2 months ago to give birth to my baby, Andrew Ryan Pasquinelli, I was a little over 7 months pregnant when I left. I had very short "men's" style haircut when I worked here. It was an awesome spot back then. None of the original crew is here except one traitor. No soul left, spot is not worth anything. There is no garlic in anything.
We've been lucky to visit multiple times in the course of many years and Pier 23 still remains consistent. I always like to ask for a waterview when the weather is nice, the view never disappoints and the vibe here is always the best. They used to have this crab and shrimp sandwich that isn't on the menu anymore that was amazing! It was our favorite but we've tried many things from the menu and have never been disappointed. The chowder and fries are so good! Reserve in advance or visit during non-peak times to score the best tables and flow of service.
The good, we ordered fish and chips, and fish tacos. The fish was fresh but needed some seasoning. The service was ok, the waitress was friendly and attentive. However, it look like she was the only one serving tables and as a result she checked on us only once towards the end of our meal. Still a good place to check out.
Affordable Clam chowder with a hidden patio looking at the bay. Highly recommend this spot. I am not a tourist as I was a former San Fransisco resident but this is a nice place at the pier with a great view.
Came here for a late lunch on a Friday. There is outdoor seating with some protected from the wind. It was comfortable. I had some oysters on the half shell to start, they were so fresh and properly prepared. For my meal they had a special of Halibut Crudo (raw like a tartare) with peaches, pickled peppers and a lovely citrus sauce.
My friends had the baked oysters, clam and fish chowder, shrimp melt, and crab cakes. Everything was so fresh including and herbs and vegetables in the dishes. I had a taste of the chowder, it was so flavorful and not to heavy like some chowder.you wouldn't need a nap after eating it.
There was a wide variety on the menu including vegetable dishes, salads, sandwiches, a burger, and plenty of shareables. You could eat here easily if you had a particular diet like gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, garlic free, etc.
The service was excellent, they came by at the right times to take drink orders, remove plates, etc. We were well taken care of. I will definitely be back.
Sad to say that we had a terrible experience. After pandemic they become self service. No help from the guy you place your order with at bar/counter. Burger was bad but Fries were great. Once was enough.
We've walked past many times and not really noticed it but met a friend there and were really surprised by the good food and incredible views. It's a bit expensive but worth an occasional visit with special guests.
Before heading home on the ferry I stopped in Pier 23. I got fish and chips as well as the crab cakes to go. Yummy! I will definitely get those items again the next time I'm in San Francisco
Horrible food that I wouldn’t feed to my dog! This was by far the worst & most expensive meal we had while visiting San Francisco.
Really good food and service, only outdoor seating available lots of seafood and non seafood options! Solid choice for the area.
Usually sunny when foggy by Pier 39. Really good food. Outside seating and sometimes live music, call ahead. Classic SF place.
Friendly People and Great Food. Excellent chowder excellent garlic fries wonderful seafood sandwiches and oysters are small and flavorful.
We will be back.
Stopped by one day for a drink on the patio. Later in the week when we were disappointed with Fisherman's Wharf crowds and menus we walked back here and had the fish tacos and a bottle of rose! It was perfection! Staff couldn't have been nicer and although I never order the Baja taco, they were a very light and airy battered fish. The pickled onion and jalapeño was my favorite side ever! Yum!
This was our first time here. We enjoyed our visit and the service was friendly and attentive the whole time we were there. My son had the fish and chips which he thought was amazing! I had the catch of the day which consisted of an oven roasted California yellowtail amberjack with ginger scallion sauce. We really enjoyed our lunch! We also had rose, zinfandel and a blend.
Come here and ask for Tatiana! My friends and I call it Tatiana’s. We just found out the place has a name, lol. The food, drinks and the view are always great! Service is always phenomenal and friendly!
Tried getting a table here by letting the manager know that we were going to just get appetizers and a few drinks, the manager replied that tables were only for full plates and that we could sit at the bar, which was visibly full. There were many tables available, so I took my money elsewhere, never going back
Met my husband here 22 years ago. Best place for live music, calamari, beautiful view off the deck.and meeting your soulmate:)
Get the crab cakes (but all food is amazing!) and a beverage of your choice and enjoy the views. Can’t wait to go back, one of my SF favs!
Woah 73 Dollars for 2 drinks, a basic shrimp cocktail and a order of fish n chips that only came with 1 fillet? Views great no doubt, service was friendly but alot of coin for something I could have gotten at safeway to be honest for much cheaper. Come for a drink and the view.
Great service, friendly staff
Enjoyed my visit there, cocktails were well balanced, was there to drink I didn't eat. Meet 2 very interesting women there, 1 I was especially interested in. Back to the Cafe. Yes great atmosphere there, but of course beautiful days in San Francisco
