Piety Hill Cottages, Nevada City CA

An absolutely charming cottage in the woods. Walking distance from Nevada City's main shopping/restaurant/cafe area. Very cute, clean, and comfortable stay. No shared walls was nice. Very quiet. Staff were kind and attentive. If you are traveling to Nevada City, I highly recommend staying here.

I just tried to make a reservation here, and while speaking on the phone the man who answered gave me a higher price than was listed, I asked about it and he told me they have a $20 "surcharge" if you bring a child with you.a child that will be stating in the same room and sleeping in the same bed we are, making no more work for the hotel staff. The money isn't much, but it is a cheap move for an already pricey place, and when questioned about it, he became discourteous and snarky, which was returned, and during our conversation he decided to cancel the transaction and leave us with no place to stay.
The pics look nice, and I'm sure it could be a nice place to stay, but management and staff have some growing up to do.

The hosts of this establishment are patient and kind and the rooms are within a very comfortable walking distance of scenic Old Town Nevada City. The prices were reasonable and the room was ample and cozy!

Room was spacious, clean and inviting with a soothing color scheme.amenities thoughtfully chosen. Bed was very comfortable. Enjoyed having a table and chairs from which to eat and work.peaceful and quiet surroundings with a lot of character! Thank you!

The cottages were quaint and quiet. They are very old but charming and clean. It was convenient for getting to hiking spots, swimming holes and great dining in Nevada city. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

Very quiet and peaceful. My wife described the room as cute. Had a nice shower and the bed was comfortable. We walked to our dinners (Friar Tucks… delicious) and stores which was about a ten min walk. Great place if your looking for a nice quiet place to relax

The place is amazing! We were so happy with the amenities of the cabin. We had a kitchen with a dinette, living room with great tv, a very nice room, the bathroom was lovely. Everything was very clean and spotless. The plants were just beautiful and well cared, they definitely made a delightful touch on the decoration. We loved the colors of the furniture and the super clean linen. The pillows were great! The mattress absolute awesome! Thank you so much for making our stay so pleasant! We will return.

I accidentally found myself in Nevada City just before dark. Google had Piety Hill Cottages high up on the list so I called and talked to the nicest lady ever. It was just me and my new motorcycle on the way home to sunny southern Oregon, so I took a nice small cabin for the night.

It is a clean, older place with cute antique furnishings. There is a small fridge, microwave, TV, and every kind of coffee, tea and hot chocolate you can think of.

Extremely quiet. Great shower and a bathroom that is small but big enough. Everything works and is clean. I highly recommend this place. They are in the middle of a top to bottom remodel of three more cabins. They will be nice.

To make it even better, that nice lady recommended Fred's Szechuan for dinner. The best General Tsao Squid ever.

Super kind staff with an easy self check in/out. The cottage was cute and quaint with everything we could have needed. The adorable downtown was an easy 10 minute walk with lots of great food and local shops. Highly recommend!

We had a comfortable stay. The cottage we stayed in was very cute. The facilities are old, but that’s part of the vintage vibe.
I did mention about the bed being squeaky. Whenever someone got up, it woke me up. Management said they’ll look into it.
It’s location is perfect.

It was a cold December evening, I couldn't be more excited about experiencing Victorian Christmas 2021 with the love of my life. After a long family Christmas in Grass valley~some special couple time was mad in store! This girl is already planning the next Nevada City adventure and Piety Hill Cottages will definitely be where we rest our heads at the end of a long day of taking in the sites thrills and taste of thie little country Hillside Town️.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the room we had reserved was unavailable. They upgraded us to a cabin that was very nice and a pleasant surprise. Thanks!

We had 10 of us that evacuated from Rollins Lake Colfax because of the River fire. We had a great time barbecuing dinner and breakfast in spite of the situation. Make it a blessed day unless you have made other plans.

The description of the cottage is what it said it was online. It is an older cottage. They are currently doing upgrades on some of the cottages. The bed was comfy. It had a kitchenette area with small sink, utensils, plates, bowls, wine glasses, and a microwave. We stayed for a few days but weren’t in the cottage much to utilize everything. Other then that everything was great. Recommend better curtains to cover the outdoor lighting at night and maybe a shower upgrade. Shower was fine, low water pressure but still good. Recommend the cottages.

This was my 2d stay. Love the place! Great hosts who manage things very well. Cottage super clean, and decorated with charm. The property is very quiet and calm. Will surely visit again.

We went to the Cottages because my great niece was getting married it's very clean very well decorated the beds were extremely comfortable everything worked perfect I would highly recommend The Cottages and we plan on making a trip back

This was an adorable place to stay. Each cottage was independent and had a small little kitchen with fridge and microwave.
Ideal location as it was a 7 minute walk to downtown!
The cottage grounds were great with tables and lawn space. We are going to stay here again many more times!

Absolutely wonderful and loved everything about the Amber room. A home away from home that sets you back in time. Truly, it was the most relaxing time we had in a very long time. Minutes away from the historical downtown. The Staff was wonderful and very accommodating to any needs we had.
We will make it back very soon!
