Nothing was bad, but nothing really special or exciting either.the pizza was more like focaccia with toppings than a square pizza.it was 7 bucks a slice too.

Delicious snacks or meal. The onion with cheese is good but definitely try them all at least once.

Good pizza, friendly and attentive staff. Got a recommendation from them I wouldn't have chosen on my own, but it was perfect. And they cooked my slice just right. Not enough places let the edges brown like they should.

Slice was tasty, if not a bit on the expensive side. The staff member working was a bit inattentive, forgot about three slices in the oven and slightly burnt them. Didn't acknowledge it when serving them.

I ordered Mushroom Pesto flavor, it’s pretty good taste, include tax cost me $6.52, although a little bit expensive, l like it, I would like to try other flavors next time.

Great pizza! Get a side of extra sauce though and you'll really be set. The Service and Atmosphere are great. It's a cool little pizza spot.

Alright. Now that I have tried all relevant Detroit Pizza in San Francisco which means I only excluded two places that look like they aren't actually Detroit Pizza/ possibly some kind of cover up for something (8 Mile Pi, Mio Motto) which means I tried all of them. All the Detroit you can possibly try in San Francisco and this is good stuff for sure. But here's the thing, as good as it is - it is the only one that doesn't have super distinct characteristics about it like everyone else's Detroit Style. This is a good thing depending on how you look at it. I think this is almost as good as Sunset Squaredsbut I prefer Sunset Squares because they use San Francisco Sourdough whereas Pizza Squared is kind of the only Detroit Style Pizza in San Francisco that explains Detroit Style in a neutral way.

That is what I can say for Pizza Squared, it is entry level or because you try them all is why you try this. Or you just don't want "dank" Detroit Style which I can see someone out there maybe wants however the whole point of Detroit Style Pizza is to eat something "drank". I would say do not hesitate to try them but they are Mid objectively after trying all the Detroit Style Pizza in San Francisco.

Ordered a Hawaiian pizza and it was terrible…

I’ve purchased slices here many times, they were good. However this time that I received this Hawaiian pizza was a no go.

The bottoms were not cooked throughly or crunchy. The toppings were so obviously canned pineapple, it would be more convincing if they even chopped it up, like come on. Sliced Chilis were also dried and chewy.

Cheese wasn’t even melted so it was a block of white fat on top. Although I ate it pretty much after we picked it up, tasted like cold pizza. Especially because this is Detroit style, it’s thick and when not done right just tastes like thick bread.

Don’t think I’ll be eating from here again, it’s hard to mess up pizza.

September 2022:
It's been a few years and I thought I'd update my review. I ordered a few pizzas and salads. I still love the Detroit style pizza here. The crust has a lot of cheesey goodness! We tried the pesto mushroom, the supreme, the kimchi bulgogi and the sausage mushroom.

I really like the way the salads are packaged in reusable jars. Tried the kale Caesar and the Chinese chicken salad. Both were great and a big hit with everyone.

2019:
Wow.is fantastic! Tried the Korean meatball pizza and the Detroit pepperoni pizza. Especially loved the Detroit style pizza.

Had one of the arugula salads which was hearty.

Can't wait to come back again and taste the other options!

Great pizza! 6$ a slide, and the portions are filling. Also have plenty of vegetarian options which is great!

No bathroom tho. And no place to wash your hands, so probably wanna bring hand sanitizer or a sink.

Detroit style pizza (thick, chewy crust). If that's your thing then this place is great. Salads are good but are also expensive so I can't recommend them. Pizza is usually pretty fresh but I've gotten an old slice a couple times in roughly 20 or so visits.

First time visitor looking forward to my next return.
The bulgogi/kimchi was the pizza square winner for me. The caramelized onion was a close second. Tip for customers watch the time your square is being reheated.no more than 3 minutes otherwise BURNT.
The homemade lemonade was the jackpot.
Great customer service.

Really good pizza, this is one of my go to spots for grabbing a slice on my lunch break from work across the street. Get the house made ranch, its excellent. The guys that work here are super friendly as well.

I rarely do reviews but I have to tell the world that this place is a GEM! I just happened to walk by and smelled the goodness and am so happy I decided to go in. It’s a family owned business, with inviting ambiance and AMAZING focaccia pizza (I had the mushroom pesto). The owner is such an fantastic person, very proud of her employees who have been with her for many years (and that’s how you know she’s a good employer), and very sweet and attentive with the regular clientele, knowing everyone by name. I was only there for 20 minutes and we chatted about so many things. Highlight of my day and will definitely be coming back soon to try her other creations. Thank you Cristina!

Pretty solid pizza but not worth $6 a slice in my opinion. All of the slices had the texture of crispy garlic bread which was unique but personally not my favorite.

We tried the pepperoni, chicken curry, and cheese slices and our favorite was the chicken curry (mostly because of the novelty). The pepperoni was pretty good too with crispy edges but would not recommend the cheese slice.

Overall it is a very convenient, quick stop but I wouldn’t come back.

A great discovery! Was feeling so down and sad today Then I found this place called Pizza Squared. The owner was so nice and she explained to me the different types of pizza available.

You can choose from Sicilian or Detroit style pizza. The thick crust was crunchy and manageable. I suggest you eat it as soon as u can because damn!
I got the pepperoni with red onion and the bacon which was full of Mozzarella cheese. Can't wait to go back and try the one that has clams on it.

As a resident of 855 brannan I go to pizza squared very often and love the pizza and especially its crusting a lot. The packaging used to be paper/card board boxes but recently whenever I have it to-go it's served in a plastic packaging with a tray and a lid for just one slice of pizza. I don't know if it's recyclable, but I will love to see this beloved business giving me more reasons to love it even more.
