Italian Restaurant Pizzaiolo reviews
17Delicious pepperoni pizza, fried chicken and house-made focaccia with burrata. Bottles of wine are half off on Tuesdays which makes them more affordable. Otherwise most bottles are $50-$60+ and even a carafe of house red is $50!
Amazing Space with great people kind-hearted friendly great customer service and really amazing food changes with the seasons.
Good Italian restaurant! Pizza was good but nothing special! The dough wasn't baked in the middle and the prices are already in the upper segment (20-30$ for a pizza). I still give it 4 stars because the overall package fits!
Did not have the pizza. Had the small plates were wonderful, California cuisine at its best, fresh, light, full of flavour.
Pizza is excellent. The day had been very hot, and unfortunately the Aperol Spritzer was not very cold, which was understandable, but disappointing. Service was friendly.
Good food, generous portions. The sweet pepper pizza I ordered was a tad too spicy but overall nice atmosphere and good service.
Food was once again good, but the waitress we had was very distracted, forgot to bring us our drinks and told us 20min after we ordered something that it wasn't available.
Good pizza in Oakland in a restaurant row. Spacious restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. It has a wood burning traditional over and they use good quality fresh ingredients. Pizza is good sized and they have full bar and many drink selections. Parking is a bit challenging as there are many restaurants in area that are also well trafficed.
Love this place, great salads, pizza is awesome, and if you’re lucky enough to have the meatballs on the menu I would order it asap. Great vibes only knock is that the bar is small and not much to chose from.
The head chef Anthony is immensely talented. My dining experience was 10/10 and I would recommend Pizzaiolo to anyone looking for an experience. The space itself is tastefully decorated and provides a nice ambiance to enjoy your meal. The food itself was a genuine delight, with Anthony and his team serving creative, vibrant, and delicious dishes. I had the melon dish, avocado dish, olives, and corn. I can say Anthony is a world class chef and I would enjoy eating his food on any occasion. You can observe the teamwork in the kitchen as he and his sous-chef masterfully prepared a large volume of dishes. Wait time for the food was slightly above average but the quality more than made up for it. Head chef Anthony also creates the playlist for the restaurant, and the music was a 10/10 as well. The bartenders prepared 2 remarkable cocktails for us and professionally spaced our meal out so we could enjoy each dish. They make a great team, though one area of improvement that I would recommend is their communication between them.
One of the best restaurant in Oakland for pizza, pastas, salads, seasonal specials, great drinks…. Everything is always delicious. Not to mention the patio for a great outdoor dinner.
On of my favorite places here in Temescal. Food is excellent. Menu changes often so you never get bored but also could get disappointed when you order the same thing and it looks different.
We were a party of four, plus a toddler. It's first come, first seated at Pizzaiolo, and we were lucky to be first in line. We got a super outdoor table, and the service was exceptional.
The food was also super; fresh, creative, and perfect portions.
I'd recommend Pizzaiolo to anyone. Great cocktails, the salads were fantastic, loved the back patio, really exciting menu. The pizzas were good but, other than the margherita, they fell a little short when compared to similar East bay restaurants.
Great spot with a welcoming outside patio, unique and delicious pizzas, and accommodating and friendly staff making dining with the kids easier. Though, would be great for a date night without the kids as well.
Pizzaiolo was one of our favorite places in Oakland (where we lived for 5 years). My last meal in Oakland before relocating abroad was a whole pizzaiolo pizza eaten straight from the box in an empty house, perfect.
This is my top choice pizza place in East Bay. The pepperoni, jalapeño and honey pizza is pretty remarkable. The pizza in general is a great blend of napoletana standards but not so pretentious that they can’t have a little fun with it.
Also, bonus points for going around the corner to Curbside Creamery for ice cream after dinner.
