Pizzeria Delfina - Palo Alto reviews
21 Five years ago, my brother made a reservation at Pizzeria Delfina for my birthday, and little did I know that it would become my favorite pizza place. Fast forward to the present, and I'm even more convinced that this place is an absolute gem.
After my recent trip to Italy, I had high expectations for tasting the best margarita pizzas in their homeland. To my surprise, no other pizza could surpass what I found right here at Pizzeria Delfina. Their quality has not diminished over time; if anything, it has only gotten better.
Beyond the outstanding pizza, the ambiance is delightful. The staff seems to be a bit of a mixed bag, most of them are incredibly friendly but there are a few that are not.
Pasta
Because the seat is very close to the kitchen and there are very few people, so you can clearly see the operation of the kitchen
A pre-made package of pasta on a small pot, add heat and serve $25 This price is really disappointing
.
Drinks
This non-alcoholic drink puree+soda=$9 (the problem is not good)

Pizza is delicious! Just made very fresh! The meatballs are also delicious and the temperature is great!
Visited again today, still a great Italian pizza restaurant!
Visit this restaurant again on August 5,2023. Still feel delicious
Great atmosphere and service. Unfortunately restaurant doesn't do half and half for a pizza. If you want two types of toppings, you must order two.
Pies. Food was delicious, but overall a bit pricey.
Showed up with my child there and although there was a lot of space to seat, I was told we could only have a seat at the bar, which was far from convenient for my 3 years old. I’ve been here in the past, but worst hosting experience so far
Ate here last night, and the food was pretty good. I got the 4 formaggi pizza (and they added red onions and oregano — super yummy) and shared the pesto pasta (summer) and grilled corn (summer appetizer). The staff were friendly and general vibe was good, outdoor seating and space between tables, not too loud, attentive staff:)
Love this place! Their gluten-free crust is one the best out there. I usually get the margherita pizza w/ prosciutto and it never fails. The service is fantastic and everyone is really friendly. I had a chance to tell the GM there how awesome everything was and I hold this to be true. I dine out a lot and I am pretty picky. Definitely a go-to place. My only criticism would be- they've got to do something about the bugs flying around out night. Some citronella or something to keep them from flying around the people. But, otherwise- a great place for lunch or dinner.
Branch of a SF resto with a pretty patio. Terrific service and delicious food. What more could you ask for?
Edit: we tried again and had no issues getting seated on time. Food and service was great.
We had a reservation for 7: 30, and showed up on time. Weren’t seated 25 minutes later. Don’t take reservations if you can’t actually manage them.
If you are vegetarian, choices are limited but the little choices you have, they taste great!
Make sure you have a reservation, it is usually fully booked. Otherwise, good food and friendly, reasonable service.
The best wood fired pizza in Palo alto, friendly servers and great wine list! We usually book in advance to avoid a wait.
The best pizza there IMO is the burrata pizza.
Outside seating is cute and has heaters!
I loved their normal pizzas and now I also love their gluten free pizzas apart from last Friday when the gluten free pizzas I had ordered were too oily, which made the crust strangely crispy.
Not my first time in the restaurant, but this was the first time I was shocked from an attitude of a server and left after ordering. Walked in, sat at the bar, and the bartender opened a champagne bottle on us, spraying our faces and place settings completely to a point we had to wipe our eyes and clothes. Didn’t apologize, didn’t show any remorse, just said “it happens”, after basically aiming the bottle at us. After I said I’m frustrated, they looked away, as if we did something wrong. So shocked. Took our stuff and left. Never coming back.
Well it was nice but over $50 each for a pizza dinner? And $25 for a small bowl of spaghetti. Nice, small portions, expensive.
Great Pizzeria in downton Palo Alto. Appetizers, particularly the Burrata, and pizzas, specially the mushroom one, were very tasteful. Service was pretty good and the ambient has a modern feel - you might not tell it from the street but they have a decent sized and reserved outdoor space as well. Lastly, they have a good selection of Italian wines to pair with the food.
Service was slow and sporadic, food was over-salted and mediocre. They are also brazen to set 20% as the minimum default tip, on top of the mandatory 5% added junk fee. Will not be returning.
A generally good vibe and good pizza place! Very cute decor and very cool salad. A very unique tasting salad (winter chickarie) ; a tasteful combination of sour salad dressing and salty anchovies. Pizza was good too; unique selection of pizzas and they execute the neopolitan style pretty well; though I still prefer Punch Pizza.
Pleasant setting and good service. Offers a variety of gluten free options.
Delfina has a decent menu with about 10 options for pizza, including gluten free options, and plenty of other choices. We ordered a regular and a gluten free pizza. Both were pretty good. The salads are made with fresh ingredients and in-house dressings, but they are too small. Do not expect to have a full daily serving of vegetables by eating salad at this place.
Just visited Pizzeria Delfina in Palo Alto again. This time with my friend and his wife. Had even better experience this time once we got seated. Pomegranate Bellini was very flavorful drink. Spicy Cauliflower was awesome! We topped margarita pizza with onion, bell peppers and that was great change. Crazy us!
The manager Lauren was staying on top of every guests group/ table. Our server had great humor too, hardworking young man.
