Players Sports Grill reviews
15 This a great bar to grab a beer at and they have great food as well!
Right next to the dmv so if you have a long wait time is perfect to grab something to eat and have a drink!
A clear bar! Clean bathrooms! What was a surprise was the amount of kids and teenagers there, but I am not from here so maybe it is normal. I enjoyed playing the pool. The place is clean and pleasant. Lots of tvs to watch sports. Lots of beers. Next time I will try their food. In general I recommend this place for watching sport, beer and the pool.
We had lunch while watching the Padres in the playoffs.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Fair prices, Hamburger was a 1/3 pounder and cooked perfectly.
We will definitely go back again. TV's surround the inside so everyone has a great view.
Great food and great service. Lots of TV's with all types of Sports playing. Staff was cool enough to put the LA Kings game on for us so we could watch the hockey and Padres playoff games at the same time.
Food was good, but not great. We came here for happy hour. It was enjoyable and not too crowded when we got there. Tots, pretzel bites, and potato skins were good. The bread braids with the salad were okay hot, but turned to rocks once they cooled a little so maybe try the garlic bread.
There was a big sign in the window saying happy hour from 2-7 M-F. We were informed inside that no happy hour exists there.
Terrible. Not sure if this just for locals. We came here for a late lunch at 3pm. When we walked in the server was taking an order at a table, looked up at us, didn't say anything to us. So we walked in at sat at a table. We literally sat there for for 10mins and the server walked by us 3 times. Did not acknowledge us, did not offer menu, or drinks. Not even a "we will be right with you". We sat there and proceeded to look for a different place to eat. When we found our new destination we got up and left. Still there was no contact made with us by anybody.
Update Response to owner:
Hi Mike,
Thank you for reaching out. The date of the incident would be the same day I posted the review. I was hoping this would show the exact date, but it doesn't. We were sitting at the high tabletop table closest to the kitchen area. There were 2 of us and we had our motorcycle helmets with us that we placed on the tabletop. Hopefully that will help narrow down your search when reviewing the videos.
Good atmosphere. Beautiful staff. Affordable beers. This place was great without any sports on the TVs.:)
First of all the Health and Safety info should be changed, as none of the staff wore masks (one would hope they are wiping the tables down), though they do have a hand sanitizer handy at the front. This was after mandates were lifted but still- it shouldn't say so, its misleading.
We only got snacks, so I can't comment too much on the food but the tots were tasty. My out of town guests wanted beer and pool and this place was not crowded so we stopped by. The beers were all right but seemed- not very carbonated? And though the very friendly waitress was quick to change them (not mine- my beer "was just like that, usually") she also just grabbed our glasses to taste from them. Just.not comfortable with that these days.
There was also a very young crowd there. Some teen aged looking kids playing pool and drinking (I'm guessing they're older then they look), and a little boy with his parents at the next table. So- its family friendly? I think?
The bathroom is clean and there was ample parking. There's outside seating and lots of games on tvs inside. Willing to give them another try.
I didn’t get the chance to dine in today but just got off the phone with crystal asking if I can place a phone order for someone in need of a meal outside. They told me not to worry about paying they will just get them taken care of. No need for me to order they just had it covered no questions. Folks, this is what community care and business leadership looks like. No material or fiscal incentive for them. No social media clout. Just kindness and love. We need so much more of this. Outstanding community care by players. Please do patronize them, even if you’re not in to sports. Hats off to the players ownership and team. You guys should be proud of your work and service.
Great burgers. AWESOME sides! Wonderful staff! Our family orders and picks up from Poway Players often.
Nice local tap list, tasty pub grub. I had the philly cheese steak tots and would definitely order again.
Just moved to area and been in a handful times. Food is decent. Need more options available some areas. Staff is a mix, some definitely more interactive than others that make feel like a number more. It’s not as welcoming as hoped, energy is bit off. Perhaps see how goes a little more but looking at other options.
Spent a few hours celebrating my grandson's first birthday. Fun spot with good food, reasonable prices and a nice sports bar atmosphere.
Good food. Fair prices. Friendly, hard working staff. We like the outdoor dining area where they are dog friendly. They have heaters & they are very effective. I highly recommend this local gem.
