Point Break Cafe reviews
15We went for breakfast. Pancakes recommended by the nice owner, delicious! We took the ones with blueberries and bananas and walnuts, among the best I've ever eaten. The dishes are very abundant, breakfast is also valid for lunch and snack. Super recommended also for the friendliness of the staff!
The food was amazing. They were a bit understaffed, but the servers were great. Cozy little place
Went here on a late Monday night after flights were rescheduled and so was pretty tired, needed easy food. Glad this place was open, the grilled cheese was fab as was the sweet potato fries. The cervice however contained bitter cucumber which ruined it, the staff were lovely about it and didn't add it to the bill, realising their error.
It's a blue collar hang out spot. I have enjoyed everything I have gotten here. Mainly I get the breakfasts and the chicken wings and the burgers. I work a few doors over and its always nice to come see Ellen and the crew. I absolutely love the work done on the wings, clean hot oil.excellent staff every time. Got the wings and a small side salad for lunch this time.
Don't eat anything fried here. The oil is so old you can smell it come off the food. The servers did everything they could to make it a good experience. As a caterer and long-time restaurant employee, I will never return here
Service was impeccable
Food was divine we had beef nachos and steak sandwich along with drinks. All the food was really good. You won't go wrong with their steak sandwich. It's cooked to perfection and served on a toasted bun along with delicious thick cut fries. Yes real steak not sliced shredded beef. Two beer battered onion rings with ranch.
Positive: nice atmosphere & friendly staff.
Negative: prices higher than listed here. Breakfast: Break Point Special: plain eggs, white toast, bacon, tiny fruit ‘bowl’. Nothing special. My bill for one was $15+.
Solid spot for a late night dinner. The bar vibe was better, but at least of meal was enjoyable. Some sliders which were great and delicious sweet potato fries.
The food here is great and I'll definitely go back for the food. However the atmosphere/interior of the restaurant needs some work.
I had the house omelette and I highly recommend that. It was very good and everyone's food was great. The only very minor complaint on the food was that we had to pay extra to have eggs any other way than scrambled. The pitcher of mimosa and the bloody Mary was great as well.
We had a group of 8 and couple kids, and the staff was able to accommodate us by putting tables together. The staff was very nice and friendly but with a big group, one minor changes in orders were missed.
The atmosphere definitely has a dive bar feel to it and the interior just needs some work done. A lot of the lights were not working and the bathroom was very outdated and dirty looking. No changing table either so we took our kid out to the car to get changed instead.
Overall if you overlook the interior, the food here is amazing. I would recommend takeout vice dinning in until the interior is redone.
Food was absolutely terrible the service wasn't the greatest worst experience since being in San Diego
Nice little cafe/restaurant with lots of menu choices. Friendly and attentive waitress, good food, large portions, and decent prices. Wonderful fresh coffee!
We visited again in 2023 and we are happy we did! We brought friends with this time and they loved it too! A hidden gem among hundreds of options. Everyone was fully satisfied with their food and the service!
Impeccable service, kind and attentive. Always a pleasure, thank you (Catherine and Ellen).
Stopped in for lunch but had a delicious breakfast burrito. Service was great. This building has a long distinguished history and interesting decor.
This was our favourite breakfast place while we were vacationing in SD. Attentive staff. Good food at reasonable prices. The banana nut pancakes were fantastic! Interestingly, dogs are welcome inside - not used to that at home.
