Point Lobos State Natural Reserve reviews
13 Great park, plan to spend at least 2-3 hours for quick run along all paths, or the whole day if you want to study coast line better. Keep in mind that the parking is very limited, so get there early.
There is a lot of poison oak and ivy around, so be cautious.
You can see many different birds and animals so if you have binoculars take it with you.
Such a great place.
Awesome hikes. Great for kids as well.
It's very scenic. With clear skies it will be much more beautiful. Parking gets full very early but can park on the highway 1 and walk, it's not too far. But, if you get parking inside that will be super awesome as you can move between multiple parking lots. There is Fee to enter.
Beautiful scenic views. Not the absolute best spot for a "beach day" but fun for tide pools, walking trails, picnics and just enjoying nature!
Best place to clear your mind, get some fresh air and exercise. Got here at 8: 00, the bathrooms at the ranger station had not been cleaned from the night before. Rangers not very friendly.
The sea lion trail was under construction and there were no signs prior to getting to that point but good views and nice trails.
This "crown jewel of the State Parks system" is heavenly. Mystery and history are as woven through this reserve as the hiking trails are.
Note: careful of ticks, stay on the trail and don't rub up against plants!
5 star! If you're traveling up or down the coast, if you're going anywhere near Monterey or Carmel, you HAVE to check out Point Lobos! We did the whole exterior loop and it probably took us 3-4 hours with a lot of stops for photos and snacks. Bring plenty of water and something to eat. It is NOT dog friendly. Service Dogs only, no emotional support. China beach is definitely the most beautiful spot. There's a place where you look out towards bird rock, there's a nice bench, and you can look down onto the double cove with the absolutely beautiful water color. This is the most epic view in the whole park. It's a short walk if you head South From the starting gate. If you head North to start, you'll end at China Beach, which is what we did. I'd highly recommend if that means you'll be finishing around sunset. China Beach is incredible at sunset!
This place is lovely. Plus the rangers were pretty helpful. They give us a little guide and answer a few questions we had about the place. 100% recommended.
This was a beautiful place to see the ocean and the trails ranged from easy to hard. Very pleasant!
One of the best state parks I have ever been to in my opinion. I wanted to take so many pictures upon arriving but I ended up just soaking it all in with my fiance. The seals, birds and views are priceless. We will be back!
Wow. This park is stunning and the trails are well maintained, easy and great for families with young kids. The only downside is limited parking which makes getting in to the park hard on busier days but if you can go in.you'll want to keep coming back every chance you get.
Numerous well maintained trails, spectacular views. Lots of places to perch up for a snack or just for a break.
Our favorite coastal hike. Part of the trail along the coast was blocked off due to the sea lions or seals but the views are very relaxing and scenic.
