Caterer Pomella reviews
14Service was weak, but we may have just hit it at the wrong time, food was fair to mediocre and drink prices way up there.
I have been homesick for my favorite Israeli food in Philadelphia. I’ve been in search of its replacement and have found it here! I’ve tried several dishes and all have exceeded my expectation. Highly recommend. And bravo to the chef!
Ordered some take out & it was delicious! Also appreciated the reusable, returnable metal containers — way to go guys!
Bland and mushy pickled fest. Ordered falafel wrap- 1st bite noticed there was no shatta or chile paste. Went back up to ask for chile and for $2.50 they give you a ramekin of watery red chile sauce. The wrap was really soggy, so took out the filling which was over powered by pickled cabbage? The falafel it self was mushy, dry and bland. Didn't have the crisp outer layer. Fried Cauliflower tasted steamed and was drenched in tahini.for me it was unedible. And the topper was an older gentlemen came up to me when I was dumping it into the compost, telling me to get tables ready for a party of 8! Terrible food and you don't know your staff! Lol $44 ($30 for the falafel and cauliflower, $15 for the burrito I bought down the street after)
Always a pleasant experience, with good food, friendly service, clean tables, and nice atmosphere. From falafel to salads and pita, the food is really good, and it’s a great option for when you are tired of so many Mexican food options
I love this place, I eat here at least once a week. The thing that stands out to me most is the quality of the ingredients and how well the chefs prepare the food. The protein has been perfect every time I’ve been here. I also really like the way they season things.
Tried the Lafa Shawarma, very little meat and lots of cabbage as a filler with too much sauce. Disappointing. The rice plates were a little better but again meat portion is small for the price.
Great fresh dishes with wonderful outdoor seating. The salads are really impressive with fun and inventive combinations. The house made fruit drinks are delicious. Alcoholic drinks are a bit pricey, but I guess that’s normal for Bay Area these days
Loved the food, and service was good. Very accessible. I had the watermelon feta salad - delicious. Order at the counter and they will bring food to you! Chairs comfortable.
Nice outdoor dining area and large portions for a reasonable price. We got the rice plates which only cost $17 each and we're delicious. There's a 5% packaging fee if you get the food to go because they use metal take out containers instead of the cheap plastic ones, and you're encouraged to return the containers later (but you won't get a refund on the fee). It's great to see the emphasis on sustainability.
Pomella is my favorite restaurant! We moved away and I still drive 30 minutes to pick up dinner. Often I order extra just so I can have it the next day. Greatest hits: all the composed salads, the cauliflower hot mezze, all the desserts.
Okay for order at the counter set up. Felt pricey for what you get and the simplicity of the dishes.
The food was good but the portions were small. If the bag weren't stapled I'd swear someone ate a portion of my food.
Delicious and worth of detour! Great California-Middle Eastern cuisine. Well priced and excellently prepared.
