Portside Coffee & Gelato reviews
17 This place was right across the street from our hotel and we wanted coffee and breakfast. Wow, what a great find. The coffee was really good. Not served so freaking hot that you can't drink it for an hour.
The first day we went I also had the breakfast burrito and my wife had the Croissant Sandwich. We couldn't believe how big they were for the price. We could have honestly just split one, which is exactly what we did the next day when we went back.
You order at the window and then you can take it to go or they have an enclosed seating area with heaters that overlooks the water. Very comfortable and a great view. Highly recommend.
A great spot to stop when walking along the embarcado. The cold brew hit the spot and prices are comparable to Starbucks. Fast service and ample seated.
Gelato is the worst here. I took vanilla, salted caramel, and pistachio - all three were not good. Especially salted caramel and pistachio has nothing in common with how it should taste. There are many good Italian gelato places 10-15 minutes from this place, you should better go there for real gelato.
The flavor of the mocha I ordered was really good, however, it was only warm. I asked if they had a microwave to heat it up. The answer was no, with no offer to heat up the drink another way, or fix a new one. I’m not sure why any business would send away a customer that isn’t satisfied with a product that has a simple fix.
This Gelato and coffee place in Shelter Island is just few steps from the SD Bay. We love their mud pie flavored Gelato and coconut mocha hot coffee. It's a very cozy and quaint dessert shop. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Great spot for quick bite and delicious coffee. Morton family owns all the restaurants there. They create consistent and quality food. I worked for them when I was young and still have so much respect for their business model.
I highly recommend this establishment for eating breakfast. The products are of superior quality. The servers are really friendly. And we can eat on the terrace which faces the ocean.
It is a reasonable price for the quantity of food and the quality of the products.
One of the best places on portside to grab lunch and take in the scenery. Staff is awesome and the food is fantastic.
The matcha with oat milk was delicious! Definitely recommend with their breakfast sandwich.
A nice little spot next to Miguel's. Grab and go coffee and gelato spot. No tables to sit at. The Gelato was very good. Didn't disappoint. Would want to go back for some coffee. Parking isn't the best, expect to park far and pay.
Reasonably priced and good. Good food options but only tried their coffee and gelato. Nice staff.
This place is located on a very good part and their coffee is good, nothing fancy or to wow you but definitely decent coffee and gelato, also other businesses around makes this place a good stop. Overall, I would definitely come back.
I absolutely loved the chai here, I like it iced with oat milk. The bagel is good, was toasted well but not blackened, and enough cream cheese to cover the bagel. My sister had the sausage muffin and she was not overly pleased, it was good but she said not enough chive aoli.
It took a minute to get noticed my the cashier but once they did, ordering was smooth and quick.
Would go back again if I was in the area but would not seek it out over every cafe in San Diego.
This was a good place to work with nice views of the water. The drinks are a little expensive but worth the location and space heaters.
The coffee here was pretty good and the environment, with a view of the ocean, is very nice.
Great little place to grab a coffee and breakfast bite. Coffee is always made to order and hot, the pastries are nice too. Bonus is it is right on the harbour so great view. Price is also reasonable for what you get.
