Poway Bicycle

Supposed to open at 11am, it is now 11: 25 and still not open. No notice or sign or anything. This is my first time here, so not a good first impression.

This place was absolutely awesome this morning. I woke up to a tire that had busted and I took it in and got immediate service and they put two new tires and tubes on in no time. They even cleaned up my chain.

Tried to drop off my bike for servicing. I was turned away and told to come back in a week! Apparently they’re doing so well that they don’t need my business. I’ll never return.

I cannot recommend going to Poway Bicycle. They do not stand behind their service or products. I recently had them perform a full service on my Cannondale Super V Raven. While being serviced I had them put new tires on both front and back. The mentioned that the tires may be to large when I picked up the bike and to bring it back should there be any issues. The smallest 26 inch tires they had there were 26 x 2.3. Poway Bicycle did not perform a fit check for the tires. When I took the bike out on its first ride I noticed that the tire was rubbing against the derailleur. The rear tire would rub against the front derailleur when riding in the smallest chain ring on the bike. Also, after I picked up the bike the gear change cables where out of adjustment. Gear noise was present when shifting on some of the gears. I performed some final adjustments and it seemed to take care of the problem. I spent $500 on a service where the gears where not adjusted correctly and tires that did not fit, they installed tires that were not checked for proper fit.

Once I brought the tire back Poway Bicycle refused to exchange or refund the purchase of the tire. I asked the owner to call me about the issue but never did.

I haven't had a bike since I was a kid, but the brakes on my new ride have been feeling off for a while now. The rear brake finally stopped working completely. I took the bike in and Vinny gave it an awesome tune-up and was able to help me out the same day. He's a really cool dude, and we chatted a bit about sandwiches. Anyway, I'll definitely bring my bike in the next time I need to have a professional look at it. These guys really know what they're doing! Thanks!

They helped me seat a couple tires and sold me some chain lube. I'm bike touring, so I asked the employee (owner?) about nearby camping. He told me about a great spot. Thank you. Nice folks.

I did not buy a bicycle here. The review is for repair services. Usually I repair my bike myself. Only if job is too complicated, I go to bike shop. I used their repair services 3 times. Once I had a brake that was set improperly. They fixed it successfully. Second, my foot brake in a cruiser bike got loose. They made it worse and I ended up buying a rear wheel and replacing it myself. Third, my crank broke. I gave them a crank to replace broken one with, which they did. However, in the process they ruined my crank ball bearings. I don't know who they employ for repair, but this fellow is surely not a pro if he can't fix a single-speed cruiser bike, which is the simplest.

Gonna be reaching out to the owner of the company and getting a chargeback started. Seth refuses to follow through with his return/frame swap policy. Do not work with this company.

This place didn’t want my money. I planned to drop off my bike to fix squeaky brakes, and try to fix rebound on rear shock. I was told to just sand the brake pad, and the “suspension guy” only comes in occasionally, and that there’s no room for my bike to be dropped off for service. Complete waist of my time. I didn’t bring my bike to a repair shop because I wanted to do the work myself. Guess I’ll try black mountain bicycle next.
