Poway DMV reviews
13I showed up as a walk Iin. The staff were super helpful. I applied for the real iD and I was out in 30 minutes from start to fisnush. Easy!
The asian lady working at the drivers test window needs to be fired. Incredibly rude and disrespectful. Regardless of what kind of day she may have had so far, that is no excuse for her actions. Swearing under her breath, yelling at anxious young test takers who were just asking her simple questions about testing, letting those who have already finished their test and need a drivers license cut to the front of the line, thereby making everyone else lined up late their appointment…
She actually had the next drivers test kid step out of line and go off to the “side” to let license applicants behind them through, and told the kid she’ll take care of her right afterwards. She completely forgot about the kid as she started letting test takers exactly like her come forward one at a time. The kid even tried getting her attention but was ignored, and ultimately had to go back to the line, losing their original place. When the kid finally reached the front again, the lady never apologized and only had an annoyed look on her face.
For the sanity of future test takers, please fire her.
I would rather drive off the la jolla cliffs than come here again!
There always seems to be a long wait here; worth checking out other DMVs in the county. There are people at the front that review your documents and they almost all seem to be rude, miserable, condescending, and generally unhelpful. I’ve seen grown men argue and fight with old ladies. I’ve seen them yell at foreign people whose english is not the best, and more. There’s this one older and bigger dude who’s the worst and when you correct him for telling you something wrong (which ultimately causes you to have to come back and waste your time) he gets all cranky and tells you “you have an attitude”.
On the bright side, the backend people - the ones at the windows and the ones that handle the test administration as well as your photo, are so much friendlier, kinder, more helpful, and more pleasant.
Another issue is that the system seems to be very ineffective. I was asked to submit an application online where I also submitted my paperwork needed for my license. I was asked for that same paperwork three more times. What is the point of wasting the time to fill out an application to submit documents if you’re going to be asked to submit those documents several times again? It adds overhead and it’s simply inefficient
Today my mom had a driving text and the examiner (Kaleena) was too aggressive to her. She was shouting when she was instructing for exam, my mom asked her to stop shouting and then she start behaving even worst and told her to learn english when you in Unites State.
First, my mom knows how to speak english and she was here for driving test exam, not english test.
Second, even if you yell or shout, the english will be the same.
Yelling and shouting will cause accident too specially with the new driver which u are having test drive.
I already complained in the DMV office but the problem is they wont take any step to solve the problems.
There is not even anyone to read these comments.
I am glad that my mom is fine.
The DMV gets a bum rap. They do a ton of work under difficult circumstances. It's stressful for everyone, and they are almost always professional and courteous.
Update the stars.
After 5 years, come back fir a renewal. Now there are new people work in this place and they are much more friendly. 5 years ago, I was shouted by one of their employee!
Opened early and dealt with my somewhat unusual request by checking around and researching rather than taking the easy way out with a "no" answer. Saved me a little money too! Thanks Poway DMV (and window #4).
I was really thankful with the staff and I was there for a bit and noticed how nice and helpful everyone was
I moved from the bay area, the line is much shorter here. My case was complicated but the lady in the first window worked through all the challenges patiently and solved my problem. The best DMV in my experience.
Alot better wait system and the people were nice. Usually DMV is an all day trip, was in and out in 45mins
Surprisingly poor customer service. The woman at window 10 this morning spent more time picking at her nails and talking to her coworker than explaining the forms and process of what we were doing, and then was mad the form was filled out incorrectly and had a bad attitude about having to print a fresh form for us to fill it out correctly. We’ve been coming to this dmv for 10 years and never had such bad customer service before.
Not bad. I was getting real ID and driver license renewal. Hour and a half with no appointment.
