My mother passed away unexpectedly and me and my siblings had never experienced handling any funeral arrangements. Preferred Cremation and Burial was recommended and we now recommend Preferred because of the sensitive and professional service we received from the first call to planning arrangements for final services. Our service included a beautiful presentation of our mother for viewing and excellent value for cost compared to other quotes received. The staff was patient and guided us through the process providing online documents for out of town siblings that made the process easy.
As expected we had many questions that were answered without hesitation.
The attendant at the service were extremely pleasant and professional in tending to our needs.

Preferred Cremations and Burials did not handle my love ones burial because we are out of state. However, we were aware of the excellent programs that they produce and contacted them to do our programs. Needless, to say they did an awesome job and had the programs overnighted to us. We were truly satisfied and would highly recommend Preferred Cremations and Burial.

The worker who helped me out with the cremation process was very nice and comforting but I was told that the box i had chosen to put my dogs ashes in was going to be “beautifully decorated” and also got the clay paw print. When i was shown the box with the ashes, all it had was one single butterfly in a cardboard brown box with a white name tag, the opposite of “beautifully decorated” and the clay heart that I got with his paw print was very crackly and the letters that spelled out his name weren’t even the same font, it was poorly made. I’m aware I chose the cheaper version but even then, the way it was described to me was the complete opposite of what I was given. Obviously nothing I can do now but for future reference.

The staff at Preferred Cremation and Burial went way beyond the call of duty in helping our family in the recent loss of our son. Mark was accessible from beginning to end and all of the staff called us every day to make sure that we were ok and if we needed anything and also helped us go the most economically way without any unnecessary expenditures. But the most generous thing that my wife and I are grateful for is because weren’t able to go back to the hospital after his passing, Mark arranged it so that we could view our son’s body before any procedure was performed. We will never forget that compassion!

3 Stars for customer service. They were very personable. Especially admin Sherry and my personal driver Wendell. Wendell was super professional, 5 stars for him. The overall experience. My father (Edward Haley) looked good, younger than he did alive, in my opinion. However, the flaws were as follows: Misspelling of my father's middle name. And there was an over 1 hour wait between the funeral and burial. Which meant i was not able to ride behind my father's casket to the cemetary. Also, I didn't like how the lady assigned to conduct procedures at my father's funeral disregarded my questions and told me twice to ask my brother. She should have been informed that I am the legal next of kin, AND I am the person that paid for the funeral (I had my receipts with me). I live in Atlanta, but my little brother (8yrs younger) lives in San Diego, which is why his name was on the contract. Also, this was the 3rd immediate family member we buried using Preferred within 6 months. A discount definitely should have been offered.

Where do I begin? The one star is for the AMAZING PIANIST and the house songstress. This place needs to brush up on proper service etiquette. The staff support should NOT be noticed or be a distraction. During the service some lady kept lady kept walking around with ONE Dixie cup of water and offering it to people. They couldn't get a simple PowerPoint to work because they struggled with the formatting. At the end, the lady handed my 14 year old son a small stack of
offer obituaries and was told to pass them out. Unbelievable!

Very bad experience with my pre-need contract. I cancelled my 2 contracts, because the trust who was holding my $ switched companies, and didn't let me know; plus I needed to get a pre-need with a company in another state. I needed my $ back and the situation from Preferred Cremation was very poorly handled. I had to get my attorney and a case started; as I was getting the "run around" and I was told that I didn't need my attorney and criticized because I told them I had a right to get him involved because of their negligence. The checks showed up just as the case was opened. I am so glad that I cancelled. I found a much better and more reliable and honest preneed situation elsewhere.
