Primal Training Center LLC, San Diego CA

After training at several BJJ and MMA gyms, I can honestly say that Primal BJJ is the best school I have ever been to. Professor D. Davis is a master of his craft and a natural teacher and leader. From day one you will feel like family. Everyone is welcoming, everyone is helpful, everyone is nice.

Each class is taught by a black belt, and on a standard weekday class there may be 5 or more true black belts to roll with, each with a decade or more of experience. If you want to get good at Jiu Jitsu fast, this is the place to be.

I can't recommend this school enough.

This facility provides real time training, effective techniques, and is family friendly. Seven black belt instructors patiently work with you and understand each individual’s skill level, and actually train alongside with you in real time rolls. Definitely going to be a long-standing customer at this BJJ gym, I am glad I found this place.

From the moment I walked in I felt extremely welcomed. Never having trained in any type of grappling before I was unsure of what to expect and a bit nervous. As a result of the kindness of both the professor and his students these nerves were soon replaced by a desire to dive head long into the art. Primal is ma jam. This is the best place to learn UFC in Diego, no joke. They do a lot in that ninja suit, but they do real fighting too.

I was looking for a place to train while on vacation from the East Coast. The professors were top notch, the students friendly and the gym clean. They addressed holes in my game and taught solid techniques. I couldn't have hoped for a better place to train. I'll definitely be back if I move to the area.

I started back in about early June. I've always wanted to learn some type of BJJ or wrestling. I came across Primal when I had moved to San Diego. I walked in and was immediately welcomed with open arms by Professor D. Davis. Its an ego free atmosphere and very family oriented. The coaches are ego free, highly professional, patient, and very knowledgeable. I cant imagine going anywhere else to train. I'm very blessed to have met the men and women that I train with. Professor D is awesome, very knowledgable and extremely welcoming. The academy is clean, well organized and highly competitive. His students are friendly and offer great training. I highly recommend this academy!

Primal Training Center is a great place to train, learn, share, and grow in your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu life and life in general. Everyone, and it starts at the top with Prof. D. Davis, truly believes we are there to train as a family and help each other. I have trained at several schools across this country and in San Diego. In 2011, I started to find a place to learn BJJ. I selected Primal just because it is close to my house and their professors are still pretty active and compete. I am glad that it turns out great.
Primal offers a competitive but friendly environment. Professor D, Jeff, and other assistant coaches are great and care for their students.

Primal has been, and will continue to be one of my greatest training experiences to date. I have trained in several academies and dojos now, and my time here has been nothing short of exceptional. I feel so blessed to be part of such a tight family of amazing people who love to train. Every day I arrive excited to be on the mat, and I leave with a smile looking forward to the next day I am there. The instruction is spot on, there has not been a day I have not learned something integral to my martial arts being here. Everyone trains hard, and trains with great respect, and I am constantly inspired on the mat as well as off by the people I roll with here. I simply love it.

It is a GREAT place, my daughter is 5 years old and within a few weeks she already showed a huge improvement, not only in physical activities but also in her attitude on how to face challenges. Very welcoming and family oriented environment.
