PUNJAB - Indian Market and Cuisine, San Gabriel CA

My first time here? Amazing, delicious, great variety. My second time? Literally threw up and got food poisoning. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to be overcharged for burnt, disgusting, or straight up bad food.

Worst food I have ever had in US, bad quality and extremely unhygienic. Server was sneezing and unprofessional.

Great variety of spices and groceries. We went with friends who made recommendations on different products we were looking for.

Very clean place, and friendly staff, I was driving Uber so it wasn't for me but it smelled good!

Food is so pathetic as compared to price.i ordered okra (bhindi masala) it was literally burnt and daal was like tomato soup.

This review is about the grocery that are available. They have good variety of Indian grocery and vegetables. Store is maintained pretty neatly and you get to see all the prices for each items displayed.

First time trying Indian food and this place is suggested by my friends. The place looks new, clean and customer service was great. Taste wise is good and the prices are reasonable.

UPDATE (Aug 2022) : I think this place is under new ownership after last time I went there. I used to go there often for their combo so last week I bought the same combo and got very disappointed with it.
I understand about rising prices of everything especially food but what the quality of the food should be similar if not the same as before.
The chicken Tikka masala came only with maybe 4 very small pieces of chicken and lots of sauce and the palak paneer basically I got the sauce only without any piece of Indian cheese that should be there

Very good store. Clean and well arranged, All kind Indian food available, fast checkout. I enjoyed shopping.

I always go with reviews but this restaurant has wrong reviews, I ordered Combo 1 the lunch one and I ordered 2 of them, they provided tiny raita cups, like bro you are charging enough to give us some good amount of food because if you ever go to the Ashoka restaurant which is in Artesia, they have way better offerings in 22 dollars with good taste. And yes two butter naans in 4 little pieces, they are not naans actually, they look like tiny rotis, waste of money!

Restaurant is very good, very reasonable prices and good portion sizes. The market is nice, but it is very small and only has the basic items.

We have ordered delivery from Punjab several times and the food is delicious. In person service felt a bit brusque. Food is great though.
Garlic naan is great. My favorite is the coconut chicken. My son likes their butter chicken.
It was fun to browse the shop while the food was prepared. Picked up a few treats to make at home. Some of the food on the shelves did appear to be out of date, so take a peek before buying.

I was served by a handsome tall guy, so that's a plus.

The food is amazing! I do not eat meat, but my wife said the meat options are delicious.

The vegetarian options are equally amazing! The fragrance, the taste, the look, the kick! They got it all.

I am so thankful for this restaurant.

I order samosas here for every special occasion/family get together and they are such a hit. My family requests them and they always finish them. I just ordered 16 for Mother’s Day for 8 of us and they were all gone!

I hate to give this place a bad review as the food is very good but they need to taste their food more cause today is was massively salty. Got two combo plates with chicken curry, lentils, saag and we had to throw the plates out cause it was too salty.

They have very well arranged grocery items with lots of varieties and at reasonable price. The neatness and tidiness as compared with the other two in this vicinity is fa superior. Though the other two are closer to where I stay but I rather drive to this Indian Market for my all grocery requirements

I thought it was going to be good seeing the reviews were high or maybe I’m just picky about how my food is made. I use to work at mint leaf and nothing I ordered came close to it. Small portions and didn’t think my drink was so small. Other places at least fill a full glass. Lamb biriyani felt more hot than mild. Sauce had way too much on the rice and felt it was too over bearing to me. Everything else was passing. This is me being honest seeing that this wasn’t my first time having Indian food. We all learn from the places we eat at and can taste the love one puts into every dish.

Had a craving for Indian food and decided to go there on a whim and wasn't disappointed. Food was excellent and the naan was out of this world! The naan was the softest and fluffiest I've had yet, will definitely be back soon!
