Punjabi Dhaba- Berkeley reviews
16Biryani was pretty bad. They also messed up our order. We ordered chicken 65 but they gave us tandoori chicken instead. Previously we had ordered malai kofta and paneer, they were a lot more palatable.
Food is Okay, but too expensive
it’s not worth this amount of money
The portions are not that big as well
Go to place for amazing authentic Punjabi food! Their aloo tikki, paneer butter masala, chole kulche, dal makhani everything was super tasty!
Another rando "chicken biryani = pulao" restaurant. Dont put your taste buds through this cringe.
We are Vegetarian and had next level Chana-Kulcha, freshly made aloo paratha (not microwaved frozen paratha) and paneer paratha. I'll definitely come back here and hope I still get the same food.
You might be better off for a take out. Sit down can be hit or a miss as this place is crowded.
Best Fresh Naan bread I have ever tried in my 26 years of my life, I would give this place a 10 star.
Such amazing food and amazing service. The server was bringing the food to us. Best and we are coming back again. We had the PAranthas. You must eat them piping hot!
Im glad there is a spot for us few elite jatt punjabi aryans away from all the southies here at UC Berkeley.amazing food and even better service!
I myself am Indian, so trust me when I say that their Chicken Tikka Masala is the best item on the menu. The chai is also decent, but it doesn’t have much spice or tea flavor, and it’s pretty sweet.
Outstanding when u can cut the meat with a plastic flimsy spoon OMG straight fyah lamb coconut curry added veggies absolutely delicious! I was really surprised!
Very flavorful, fresh, affordable and super friendly. Homemade mango lassi is soooo good too!
I took the combo food to eat in front the restaurant and we asked the shop owner to change the package for us as the food was mixed. The shop said it was because the way I carried it (I walked for 3 steps from the counter to eat on the table in front of the restaurant). Then the shop owner said it was a common sense that I should anticipate.
I went to Oakland on truck from alberta canada, and i got delayed for my another pick up, i order food from uber, quality was super super low, i spend 86 us dollar which was actually 112 cad and the food was a not worth it, if you ever come to canada the left over food canadian restaurant gives you take out containers, that one this restaurant is using to give, wasted money
Blannddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
edit: the butter chicken is meant for people who only use salt and pepper in their food and call that spicy. It was like the blandest pieces of chicken that is not marinated and just mixed with heavy cream and butter with orange food coloring. The worst chicken ever and a disgrace to brown food.will not be back until they personally notify me that they changed their recipe for this dish
Wanted to try this place since I love Punjabi food. The Chole bhature was very bland and the dough inside seemed raw, it made me very sick. The samosas is were okay but not fresh and hot.
Spent over $20 for this, very disappointed overall.
So amazing. Must try the chicken coconut curry if you can’t have dairy like me. The staff was super nice and accommodating to my dairy intolerance.
