Punjabi Indian Food reviews
16 I wasn't impressed with anything in particular and prices are high for a good truck.
I went here because I thought the restaurant was open, but it isn't, it's just the food truck or back and the rain was coming down quite hard with no place dry to eat.
Very nice people! And hands down the best in town. Fresh, authentic, flavorful.
Out the door $60 with tip (3 entrées, sauces and samosas).
We dined here during lunch (with family)
one of the worse indian food we ever had, and at a ripped off price.goat curry was boiled meat with no flavor, and raw - with almost no salt or spices.even vegetarian food was not good.we waited 30 mins to get our order - and it tasted and smelled bad.not sure how these people with survive this business with such low quality food.
I was incredibly impressed by our meals here. I’m by no means an Indian cuisine connoisseur, but this was honestly the best I’ve ever had. We tried the lamb curry and the chana saag. Both were hot, supremely flavorful, and tasted incredibly fresh. The rice, often flying under the radar, was also perfectly cooked. The lamb in the curry was so tender and juicy and the fresh flavors just popped! Medium spice offered decent heat without being overbearing to my delicate American tastebuds.
Service was very friendly and as we asked several questions, they were all kindly and patiently answered. Concern was shown for our dietary restrictions and adjustments were willingly offered. I came away feeling that this is a special establishment and I truly hope to see them succeed with their new dining building and grocery store! Thank you so much Punjabi team.
I wasn’t expecting such amazing food on the road. They kindly gave me samples to taste before choosing! The food was even better than upscale Indian restaurants. Highly recommended
Great food, friendly people and easy access off I5 if you’re traveling. We got samosas, saag paneer and tikka masala, it was spicy and delicious!
Vegan food is a hard thing to come by in Redding; when I mumbled something about it they produced a list of everything they could make vegan. Although I stuck with simple dishes like vegetable biryani and chana masala, they felt like the best you could do with them! I also asked for the dishes to be made spicy and was not dissapointed.
We were on road trip from Canada and Australia. Found this gem on the way to Fremont. I recommend this place to food lovers.
My husband and I were traveling through Redding, looking for some delicious take out and saw the reviews for this little red food cart. We gave it a try and we’re not disappointed.
The service was friendly, the masala and sag sauces spicy enough to be full of flavor but not outrageously spicy, and the nan perfectly chewy and slightly chard (as it should be). We didn’t expect fast food so the 15 minute wait was deemed reasonable.
My only suggestion is to provide some plate options. The food came in to-go tubs making it difficult to share in our hotel room. A bench to wait at would be welcome as well.
I would recommend this place as a to-go restaurant since it's a food truck. The food is amazing and love both the vegetarian and meat dishes!
This is the first time I ever had indian food. I wad skeptical about it before for some reason. Then i just went to this place for my first time. Best choice i made. This food is so good. I guess it was good and bad. The good was that it was delicious, and the bad is that now im going to hold other places against this. I had a couple other places and neither one of them came close. This is definitely a good first indian food experience!
Authentic Indian food with proper spice level and great taste. We ordered samosas, chicken kadhai, Vegetable biryani, garlic, plain naan. Definitely try out if in the area and craving for some Indian food.
I am BLOWN AWAY I'm just passing through Redding for work and heard of this place for a stranger I struck a conversation with.
I LOVE authentic Indian Cuisine, but I have to say, I never thought of grabbing it from a food truck. That being said.this place makes the sit-in restaurants I've eaten at look amateur!
The lady who took my order was incredibly polite and a huge sweetheart. I spoiled myself and grabbed the Lamb Curry, Garlic Naan and the Somoa Plate, everything SPICY.
The curry had a great kick to it, and the Lamb was sooo tender and easy to bite into that it just fell apart in my mouth. I always dip my Naan in curry, and the garlic and spicy curry were a wonderful combination.
Now, the Somosa Plate.this just might be my favorite dish. The curried vegetables inside, with the included sauces and curry, had the PERFECT balance of Sweet and Spiciness. Absolutely delicious, blew any expectations I had away.
I cannot wait to return to Redding and bring my girl with me. She's who got me into Indian Cuisine, and I KNOW she will love this place.
Thank you to the polite and talented staff for a wonderful dinner. I hope you guys are very successful and receive all the business you deserve
Oh boy, if you're looking for good Indian food, this is it! Don't let the fact that it's a food truck fool you. We were a party of 7. We ordered and waited in the building. They brought us our food and everyone enjoyed it. They did forget one of the meals when I ordered it, but they made it right. Great service, amazing staff, and delicious food. My only complaint is that they're not open on Sundays (which is understandable, they need a break).
Delicious food, try the Chicken Tikal masala it’s amazing. Owners are very nice and they provide a clean atmosphere. I have been going to them for years when they had their food truck by TA and it’s consistently good.
Wow! We went tonight for the first time to try it because my wife was craving Indian food, we were both blown away. Across all categories of food in Redding this place takes the cake. The owner came out and talked to us about how they came to be and the new grocery that they will be opening. Also there is a dining area if you wish to eat inside. We ordered Chicken Saag, Lamb Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala along with garlic Naan and basmati rice. Everything had explosive flavor and the right amount of spice. Only spent $45 for everything. Recommended to any and all. Absolutely amazing. Thank you thank you.
