Pupusería & Restaurant El Águila, San Jose CA

Not bad.got a few pupusas togo. Was told order would take 10 minutes. Actually took 25 minutes.

I just ate here and I am up to throw up. Place was dirty with a weird smell, the environment wasn’t the best, a lot of different music playing at the same time. Food wasn’t good, greasy and undercooked, even the glass of water was disgusting.

For months I was craving pupusas, and then, yesterday, "I found" this place, and IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT.

Its menu is wide and varied, including its Aguas Frescas. They also have a lovely patio area; I recommend you have your meal there. The staff is friendly, and the place is clean.

I enjoyed:
- Loroco pupusa (Salvadoran vegetables with cheese)
- Jalapeños pupusa (jalapeños and cheese)
- Beans pupusa
- Chicharrón pupusa (pork)
- Revuelta pupusa (pork, beans and cheese)
- Agua de maracuya
- Sangría

Bonus:  they do not limit you to the amount of salsa or curtido (vegetables) that accompany the pupusas. They bring you the bottle of salsa and a plate, not a small container, with the curtido.

I will come back to try more of their menu.

First of all this place needs more cleaning. A lot of dirty tables and the place doesn't welcome good vibes. Then food is no good I ask for a sopa de gallina and it was sweet with very old vegetables also service is really slow, it took more than 40 minutes to get the food so I will not recommend it

Was overall really greasy and pretty bland, but the pupusas were okay. They hella overcharged us though for food they didn't bring, claimed that the cost was 110 for 5 ppl when 2/4 ppl didn't even order full plates, ended up having to argue the villas because it didn't list prices and was at least 30 to 40 more than it should have been. Again to reiterate, pupusas were okay still real greasy but yeah everything else wasn't really worth the money sorry

Pupusas were good, nice variety, friendly service. Didn't like paper plates and plastic cutlery, the only reason for the missing star.

I have Mexican food often all across San Jose, and this is by far the worst I've ever had.
I ordered a burrito with Asada (steak) and nearly all of the meat had grotesquely large chunks of Gristle and other inedible tissue in the meat.
I rinsed the meat out to show the inedible chunks. Be safe and go somewhere else.

Whenever I’ve gone I only eat their pupusas and they are good. Their customer service is horrible. If you don’t mind bad service then I’d recommend their pupusas.
