Make it a family Tradition! I grew up tromping through these hills and valleys. My Dad was a river guide and I love ANY river, but this has a special mark… PLEASE BE SAFE! Use life Jackets!

Quarry Road itself is a wide, flat, sunny trail following a neck of the American River and leading to some extravagant climbing areas.
There are additional offshoots to the sides that are narrow, shaded, and steep for more experienced hikers and climbers. Great Yosemite like walls of rock everywhere you go.

Great for an easy trail. I you have the poppy pass, parking is a breeze. And if you don’t, the highway is not far.

Comfortable walking trail along the river. Went on a rainy day but worth the experience.
