Queen St. Raw Bar & Grill reviews
17Loved having dinner here on a Saturday night. Service was efficient and friendly, and food was delicious. In particular, we loved the Spanish mackerel tartare, chargrilled oysters, and fish baked in paper. There is a 20% service charge, which was fine with us. My only complaint is that it's a tad too loud inside, which makes conversation difficult.
Everything was delicious. We got oysters, peel and eat shrimp, the crudo (loved the cilantro flowers on top), hush puppies, shrimp burger (so juicy), big eye tuna frites (divine), and both desserts. Great wine, great service, can’t wait to come back.
The ambience is great. But the food was just ok and served at ridiculous prices. It's not worth what you're paying, honestly I don't know how they justify it to themselves. Total waste of a dinner, the swordfish and pork chop were both unremarkable and we left hungry. Won't be back.
Gotta love Queen Street. Nicest staff in the biz, perfect ambience, probably the best french fries in LA. Grab a seat at the bar and order all of the seafood - no one does it better!
Compared with his other store Found Oyster, the environment is better and the interior is my favorite. But seriously, the food is about the same.
20% service fee included! Ever since San Francisco started charging a so-called health fee of 2.75% about 10 years ago, California has really become number one in the world! It’s a wry smile in this era of inflation.
Absolutely loved Queen St. - great vibes, great hospitality, and most importantly great food. Can’t wait to go back.
Since we live nearby, my husband and I were looking forward to finally visiting Queen Street. Unfortunately, we left disgruntled and disappointed. I'm actually pretty annoyed that a place this overhyped and snooty opened in our neighborhood.
We waited over 30 minutes even with a reservation. Once seated, our server basically ignored us all night.
The food was okay - not memorable. And the menu is fairly limited (which we knew going in but is still worth pointing out). But then once we saw the bill, it was upsetting for what we got.
We also tipped on the service charge, since nobody informed us of it, and only found out later once we'd gotten home. The lack of transparency around the service fee seems shady. I wouldn't come back here again even though I live 5 minutes away.
Had an amazing experience. The staff was so friendly and made us feel special. Loved the crudo and shrimp salad!
Came here when the buzz for this new hip restaurant started.
As expected, food was pricey but delicious, but portions are quite small. Something you’d expect from a set multi course meal restaurant, but this place isn’t that.
We ordered about 7 items off the menu, and after receiving 2 of the items, realized too late that the rest of our order was not put through. We had patiently waited for our food as it was busy and just chalked up the delay to this, but it was extremely disappointing that our order hadn’t even been put through by the time we followed up. We couldn’t wait any longer (had waited 45 min by this point) and just left.
To add to the frustration was the included 20% tip. Considering our order was as it was, we didn’t feel this was fair, and lowered our experience much more.
Restaurant itself was nicely decorated, we noticed 3 separate families with babies there, meaning it was comfortable and accommodating.
Otherwise, just a hype. If prices were more reasonable or portions greater, then it would fare better in our eyes.
Best seafood bar in LA. When you’re sitting on the counter you can feel just enough southern charm to submerge yourself in each and every dish they serve.
Great food but service is not so great. Made me change from one table to another table after the first course.
Staff could be a bit nicer? Felt like I was in highschool again with all the cliqiness. The food was good, and the restaurant is beautiful.
Seat 1& 2 at the bar have to to be the best seats to eat and watch everything done to perfection. Bobby was great
We pretty much ordered everything on the menu with a party of 6. We left that night still hungry and unimpressed. Only thing that was decent was the platter of oysters.
I echo the mandatory 20% service fee and how I was taken aback by it. Get over yourselves.
Thanks to you and Bon Appetit for showing me how brutal raw bars are by removing a crab's claws while they were still alive (and then claiming you're humane while letting it sit out in a bin instead of boiling immediately.)
We came here without reservations. We waited about one hour and half. We ordered a bottle of wine while we waited. The outdoor seating was all taken up so we had to stand. Once our table came up we were very hungry. The portion to price ratio is disproportionate. Little plates for $$$$. The restaurant still has to find its menu. The oysters were okay. The wine was okay. I won’t come to the restaurant again.
The negative reviews all seem to be hung up on the price point as if this joint wasn’t serving market fresh fish. Come on, gang.
Popped by at opening for oysters and a beer. Presentation was on point across the board, menu was straightforward and not needlessly complicated. Come here expecting to pay for the experience and you’ll walk away happy, try and pop by and a budget and you may as well go to Bagel + Slice. I, for one, will return to a place where nothing-going-on becomes a special occasion.
