Quest Diagnostics Encinitas El Camino Real

We had an appointment for my daughter and the person who took the blood sample was terrible, she was telling me that i only had 10min to calm her down or she needed to take the next patient, it was a horrible experience, she was in a really bad mood.

My experience at this location was not pleasant. The phlebotomist placed the tourniquet on my arm so tight that I couldn't stand the pain. I asked her nicely if she would loosen it up. She said no because she needed my "veins to pop". I told her that it was painful and asked her again. She again said "no". I told her that I was a nurse and that I knew that the tourniquet didn't have to be so tight. She again insisted the tourniquet needed to remain so I asked her if someone else could help. She escorted me to another room and slammed the tray with my empty tubes on the desk. I also heard her talk about me to her colleague. I'm not sure if she was having a horrible day or not. However, she needs to be spoken too.

This is probably one of the worst quest I have ever been. They do not even have a front desk. If you have any issues with check-in or sample drop off then there is no one to help.

Unable to see me promptly even though I had an appointment. Unfriendly staff made me wait hours. They cancelled my appointment and I waited around for 20 minutes only to discover that I now had to wait in line to be seen. The testing was important so I stayed put. I would not have come here if I had known.

Avoid at all costs if you can. This place is Terrible. Worst customer service- it seems as though they purposefully go slow so they take as minimal walk ins as possible and you cannot get someone to talk to you. They have the greeting window covered with a blanket and took everything off the walls - really feels like you’re in prison. Also bathrooms are unkept.

I don't know if it's by company or by the manager choice of this idea no walk ins on Saturdays. (Encinitas location) I would update this on the website, I was coming from another city and wasted my drive to this location.

Apparently appointments are not prioritized first. I had an appointment at 11: 50AM, I arrived 10 minutes before and checked in and been waiting for more than 30 minutes. Service is very bad wish I had scheduled my appointments somewhere else.

Absolutely incompetent people working and running this location. They are rude and not able to do their job well at all, even with an appointment expect to wait over an hour and multiple technicians have had problems being able to draw blood

If anyone listed a review above 1 star, they are fakes. This place is extremely unprofessional and do not care about patients in any way shape or form. They are disorganized to the point they should be shut down. If the rest of the company is this inept, I wouldn't trust their results.

This is most customer unfriendly place I have ever visited. My 16 year old son visited with an appointment on Monday. They wouldn’t run the test without a parent present. They told us to arrive at 7: 00 am on Tuesday and get in line. They didn’t open until 7: 30. We were first but then told us the nurse that could run that test wasn’t in until 8: 00. Then they proceeded to take all the other appointments that arrived as we sat in the lobby not acknowledging we had been here for an hour and a half at this time. They deliberately tried to have bad service and not talk to customers. When they did they were rude. This place should be shut down by all the reviews. They were rude to others in the waiting room as well. They even drapes a cloth across the front desk so they didn’t have to see or talk to customers.

This lab is severely understaffed. They can't even bother to have someone check people in - they use a computerized kiosk. And today one of the computers was down. So after waiting over 2 hours they couldn't find the paperwork! Even though the doctor's office had a confirmation number did the facts was received. This is consistent with my last half dozen visits to this lab.

Terrible place - u get booted if you are 10 mins late for whatever reason - even with peak time traffic etc

What a joke. The front check has a big sheet draped like some kind of children’s blanket fort. A big medical complex in Encinitas and they can service anyone. Waited over an hour. No appointments available online. I guess it was a good thing we sat there that long with possible Mono. If you don’t have an appointment don’t even waste your time.

1st there waited over an hour. Appointment system sucks. Will ask for new lab willing to pay more but get decent service

First, if you want to have a great experience, show up *before* they open. At least 15 minutes early, and get on the list. Not guaranteed but often get in before everyone else. Second, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Alexis and Laura are especially kind. If you get nervous about needles/blood, make sure not to look, breathe and imagine rivers flowing. If it starts to hurt it might be closing up, but don't panic, just go deeper into your relaxation so it flows again. Hope that helps!

Waited an hour with 3 other people who were there before us to get seen. No one at the front desk. Walked in the back 10 minutes before noon, because that was when they closed to ask wth and no one was doing anything. There were no pts in the back or anything. They refused to take any of us, because we didn't have an appointment. Though there was no one there. Rude, lazy employees. Don't go here
