Quest Martial Arts - Canoga Park

We’ve been a part of this karate studio for 5 months now, for my 8 year old. I am really impressed with the teaching staff and curriculum. It really motivates the kids and is a no-pressure/fun atmosphere - all while teaching them discipline, life skills, self-defense, and improved physical strength.

I recommend the studio to any parents I can, they are so great with kids. My child is naturally reserved and I’ve seen a lot of growth in them since we started. I’m sure they have a great adult program too, I only have experience with the kids program right now. Master Lawrence is a really nice guy and has a really great group of instructors at the Canoga studio.

My 7yr old daughter has been taking classes here 2x a week for a few weeks and she loves it! I wasn't sure how she would like it at first but from the very first day, she loved it and was so excited to break her first board and earn her first belt.

Before we settled on Quest Martial Arts, we watched classes at some other studios and Quest was by far the best at connecting with the kids. The instructors are brilliant at engaging the kids and making it fun and exciting. Their exuberance is palpable and I'm often laughing while watching them teach the kids. They are also all very kind and treat everyone like part of their family. Even though my daughter has ADHD, their teaching style helps her stay engaged and focused.

I love that they not only teach martial arts, but also life skills like facing challenges, dealing with strangers/bullying, being respectful, etc and they talk to the kids about how to handle various situations in life based on the lesson of the month such as Perseverance, Decisions, Optimism.

Master Lawrence is friendly and bright and you get a clear sense of how experienced he is in how he instructs and how well his team instructs.

Ms Bautista is a great office manager. She is so kind and organized. She is also adept at working with the kids. I saw her giving a child a one on one first belt test and she was so good at keeping the child encouraged even when they ran into challenges.

Mr Rachid is excellent at connecting with the students. He is so good at making things humorous so the kids keep their focus on what he's teaching them. For example.when a kid needed to perform a kick to break a board, the first try, the board didn't break, but Mr Rachid quickly encouraged them by humorously pretending that they hurt his fingers because they kicked so hard but the kick was just a little off center and that they just needed to kick a little closer to center of the board on the next try.

Ms Palacios, Ms Heard, and Ms Hana are all also fantastic at teaching with lots of energy and humor.

Great teaching. My child is in the little dragon class and they are very friendly to the kids but at the same time teaching them discipline and how to listen and follow directions

My son joined about a month ago and is loving martial arts so far. The instructors are patient, understanding and overall great people. I feel Quest really takes the time to understand the needs of the individual and try their best to see how they can meet their needs. He looks forward to each class and loves the atmosphere. Quest, keep up the great work!

I have trained in different martial arts styles before and I was looking for a place to continue after graduating college and moving states.

I’ve been at Quest Canoga Park for over a year and the instructors have done a great job at helping me maintain the skills I’ve already acquired while still challenging me and having me transition into mastering Tang Soo Do

I was a little worried about taking classes with majority students being 7-10 years younger than me but this hasn’t been a problem whatsoever. The teens and adults classes have mostly teens but there’s all ages which makes for a great experience! I learn a lot from my classmates.

Overall, it’s a great place to train regardless of age, what skill level you have, or what your personal goals are (fitness, self-defense, confidence boosting etc.)

Quest Martial Arts in Canoga Park is a great place for kids. The staff (Ms. Bautista, Master Rasheed, Ms. Hanna, Ms Herd, Ms. Palacios) are all very helpful. They are all very professional and they make learning fun for kids. They are welcoming and make you feel at home at the same time.
My daughter was very shy when she started but after a couple of months in participating in their classes she became more social and more vocal.

Quest is the best! Our son has been a student at Quest for the last 5 years and has gone from an eager youngster to a serious black belt candidate. All the staff are great, they are understanding and patient and attends to the kids according to their needs. They teach discipline in a positive manner and helped build our daughter’s confidence.

We came after talking to an instructor at a school event. They invited us to a small event where our kiddos got a taste of the curriculum. They enjoyed it and we signed up. What’s great is that our kids are excited to go twice a week and they are slowly improving in following instructions and calmly sitting still.

This has been an amazing experience for our son at Quest Martial Arts. I like their approach of discipline with compassion provides a safe comfortable learning experience for the children. Their positive attitude and ability to correct the child’s behavior and techniques allows the children to feel comfortable with making mistakes and the confidence to continue to work their technique. They are great at talking to the parents throughout the classes creating that personal connection with us. I personally feel that we have become friends.

My son Remington was very shy and unsure about starting, but he just finished his 2nd class and loves it already. The teachers and students are very friendly and welcoming and he feels very welcome and and comfortable.

Quest Martial Arts in Canoga Park is absolutely amazing. We started taking our 4yo and 6yo here about 6 months ago, and they both love it. Every class they are taught how to focus, how to listen, how to respect themselves and others and how to have fun.
The staff here is beyond perfect and each instructor takes their time with each student and makes sure everyone is given the same amount of attention and recognition.
