Italian Restaurant Quince reviews
21Pretty extraordinary stuff, from the origin stories behind the humble plates and cutlery to the carefully selected and blended ingredients - even the non descript English peas shine when blended with Bay crayfish. Ever present, friendly service. Surroundings are a bit dark and stuffy but that's quibbling for a truly special food experience.
Food is mediocre at the best. Geoduck, mussel and mackerel were not fresh and fishy. The best were the asparagus and the wagyu. But predictable. Mousse dessert was nothing but great. It was not bad. Just mediocre. The entire menu was just ripping off. I felt no passion from the chef other than the purpose of charging people as much as possible. The wine paring was a bigger joke. Most of them were white wine. Michelins stars here at the Bay Area were jokes compared to nyc. "
This was a really great experience. Came for my birthday. Drinks were great including the bartenders sazerac rendition. Great starting bites that were fresh with excellent texture. The crawfish was probably the best I’ve had in terms of being cooked perfectly. The plate cleanser was so refreshing. Dessert was beautiful and amazing. Loved the small touches and appreciated my signed menu at the end of the evening. The to-go hot chocolate at the end for our evening stroll was really appreciated.
An incredible fine dining experience. The guava granita was the best dessert I've ever had in my life.
Quince makes for a very pleasant and memorable evening. Special occasions only, as it's very expensive.
Excellent food but rather 'traditional'. Nothing so creative, even in the full tasting menu, that one can acclaim "I've never had anything like this before. "
The dining room can be a tiny bit brighter. A middle-aged person might have problem reading the menu without his phone's magnifier.
If I could I would eat their scrambled egg with caviar for every meal. It’s heaven! And there is something so absolutely darling about the little cup of hot chocolate they give you as you leave - to keep your hands warm in the SF evening chill. Absolutely lovely in all respects.
This is my 4th time at Quince and although I had high expectations, tonight was out of this world… surprising flavors, excellent service, one of the best meals I have had in many years
Awesome venue and very comfortable and friendly dining experience, on top of the impeccable dishes! You will feel fully satisfied in every course! The only pity is the 25% service charge seems to be on the high side.
One of the better wine pairing values in San Francisco with only a 2.7x markup on retail for our December 2019 visit. For other 3-star restaurants, Singlethread was 3x in March 2019 and their Kistler location was 2.1x in October 2020 (though at Kistler they almost exclusively pour their own wines so it lacks some diversity).
Wines included champagne, 4 whites, 4 reds, and a dessert wine. We were able to revisit the first red poured when we sheepishly asked quickly emptying our glasses when we went for seconds on the smoked butter croissants.
For other 1-star restaurants around the same time Mourad was 3.8x and Lord Stanley was 3.7x.
The food incredible. Service is impeccable. It's worth visiting for a special occasion!
The MOST beautiful, attentive, inventive and well executed meal I have ever experienced! This sublime Friday evening we truly enjoyed a celestial peak of the very finest culinary event on the planet! Not to be missed or believed
We had a brilliant supper here for our commemoration a couple of years prior. Obviously it is on the costly side, however you realize that going in. We have eaten at a few Michelin-evaluated cafés previously and this one didn't frustrate. The introduction of each course appears to improve and better. I had hand crafted pea ravioli looking like a genuine pea pod. We anticipate returning once we can travel openly once more.
I took a family member here for a birthday. Perhaps we came late into their seating time, but the food, staff all seemed tired, and where we were seated, a draft was happily roaring at us the entire meal.
Really awesome and upscale offerings. It's one of those places you just get that "special" vibe from. The service was really great as well. If you're looking for a stand-out experience, check this place out.
We got the meal we wanted for the night at the end, after the last dessert dish, and the 10 courses had been innovative and excellent, and we were enjoying the typical Italian atmosphere. The view at night is amazing! We had a fantastic time there! For me, it was a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Test it out for yourself!
My husband took me to Quince for my birthday. We are visiting SF and had no expectations. What we got was a culinary treat over 3.5hrs. We loved each course from the caviar to the hot chocolate on the way out the door. Thoroughly recommend for a special occasion.
The food was so great they gave hot coco as compliment when leaving such nice great place and the ambiance was killer too. A must go place
We had an excellent dinner here for our anniversary a few years ago. Of course it is on the expensive side, but you know that going in. We have dined at several Michelin-rated restaurants before and this one did not disappoint. The presentation of each course seems to get better and better. I remember having homemade pea ravioli in the shape of an actual pea pod. We look forward to coming back once we are able to travel freely again.
Beautiful views. Amazing fresh seafood. The pier to plate aspect is great. Service was great. Wish I could eat this all the time. Will definitely come back next time we're there.
My family and I had lunch here yesterday. The kids ordered their pasta and fries, while my husband and I had their steak and soup. The soup was phenomenal! The kids also enjoyed the place, we were at their patio, and the ambiance was amazing! This restaurant is now our favorite restaurant in the city! And a good thing, it was located near our area!
The restaurant is set in a historic building, which is perfect for the mood. It has a unique view and ambiance. Great drinks, beautiful view, delicious food! We shared the pesto gnocchi with chicken and it was fantastic. Filling and delicious with a beautiful presentation. Loved it!
