Rambler Coffee reviews
14Great cafe spot in a hotel. Went in on a Monday early afternoon not busy. Drinks & sandwiches are good. Nice atmosphere & classic rock playing.
Amazing Looking place. Zero atmosphere- zero customer service. This place could really be buzzing if they put an emphasis on these two things. Good coffee
Service here is slow. Coffee is poor quality. They really don't know how to steam a good latte. Big ugly bubbles. The food takes forever to be brought out, not best quality either. And the workers are hardly welcoming. Some just stare at you till you start talking to order. The housekeeping and office workers just cut the line to get their orders in while other real customers are waiting to be served. If it wasn't for the "cute" decor, this place would definitely get no business. Tables were dirty too, crumbs everywhere. Had to skip 5 tables before finding a somewhat clean table to sit at. Terrible management. Not surprised the coffee shop is so gross when the reviews of the hotel constantly mention bedbugs. Very gross. Not worth coming to
Coffee was decent and place is super cute with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. However- prices are crazy, $4.75 for an americano is just too much and they wanted to charge an additional $1 for a splash of oat milk. Unfortunately there are no vegetarian options for lunch, so was going to do an apple danish but it was $6 for a small sized danish- so I didn’t bother. Probably won’t be back, not worth the prices.
The Cafe is nice near a park and close to a hotel. The girl at counter is nice and does her best to provide good service. It seems like management does not meet the needs of the demand. There was only two people working and orders as simple as an Americano took too long. Get the ladies some help!
I went in on a Saturday morning at 9am. It was very busy. Bottom line this coffee shop needs more staff. There was only two people staffed that I saw. They were busting out orders as fast they could. One making drinks up front another making food in back. The wait time to order and then to wait for order for some was 15-20 mins. For me in line for regular coffee 15 mins. Was going to order a sandwich but I didn't want to wait even longer, I'm sorry, I didn't have the time. The sandwiches look good though. If this place is going to serve the hotel connected to it. The new RV park down the street and then invite locals like myself not staying at hotel or park in to hangout and grab some coffee as well. They desperately need more staff. Coffee is great though! Cafe Colabria roasters used. Such great coffee.
I would definitely recommend the coffee, but I won’t be ordering any sandwiches from here in the future. Even if they had gotten my order right, I just don’t think the quality matches the $10 price. Good ambiance and service though! I asked them for a refund and they processed it without any complaints or bad vibes. I’ll definitely be back for the coffee
Excellent place to spend a pleasant time with children and/or friends, I would like more variety of food but in general it is excellent.
It’s not exactly a public coffee shop. It’s a coffee shop in a motel, so nothing fancy. Coffee was good but we took chicken pesto sandwich which was not at all good, it felt like packed ones or frozen and warmed.
It was a really nice experience. I came to do some work in a aesthetically pleasing environment and I was not disappointed.
Everything was good, from my coffee to the avocado toast.
Definitely recommend.
Even if you don't have a room here it is still a great place to get coffee in Chula Vista!
A nice diner spot for an early coffee and something light to eat. The decor of the place is cool along with the old school arcade games. Parking was good. Staffing was short (1 woman wrecking crew) when I came so it took a little time to get our coffee and food. My chai tea and avocado toast were worth the wait.
I’ll definitely come back here. We happened upon it by chance heading back up to LA, and let me say, the location is amazing. It is so peaceful there and it has a great view of the ocean and nature while you enjoy your coffee. It was easy to get there to and from the freeway, so bonus points for that.
The inside was absolutely adorable. I loved the way it looked and I definitely wanted to play the arcade games and I would have if I had more time. The whole mid century vibe works so well, especially attached to the motel. I’m especially in love with the bright colors.
The coffee was great! It wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it’s leagues better than most coffees in the area unless you head all the way down to San Diego, which is definitely not convenient for when you’re on the go. The peppermint mocha I got wasn’t super sweet, and the peppermint wasn’t overwhelming. We asked for the other coffee extra hot and to my surprise they did make it extra hot.
Lastly, the service was amazing. I tried to tip the barista but because she was a manager she couldn’t accept it. Either way. She was friendly and very helpful.
What a wonderful coffee shop! I only wish I lived closer.
