Ramen Tatsunoya reviews
15Hits the spot when you are craving Raman on those cold LA nights. $20 seems like a lot for a vowl of noodles, but you're in Silver lake, so they got rent to pay.
Still amazing.
We've been going to the Pasadena location for years, and only visited this one occasionally but it's always been great, and showed they'll continue to be great when we went today. The broth is always flavorful and rich, the noodles and chashu are cooked perfectly, and the flavor is just right. There's a reason they gave limited changes allowed to their menu, it's perfectly balanced.
The staff is friendly and inviting, happy to explain the options and whatnot. The flavored egg, while a little expensive, is a perfect addition to any of their ramen options and totally worth it.
Food is very delicious and tasty, but too pricy for the amount of meat you get, I paid 43 dollars for 2 ramen and each one only had 2 small pieces of chicken and the other two small pieces of pork, very little for the price.
I had to park so far, but it was worth it. I thought the ramen wasn't gonna fill me up, The pork belly was amazing, the noodles were great, broth came hot and plenty of flavor. I forgot to get a refill of noodles. The gyoza dumplings are the best I've ever had, you can tell they're made fresh. I don't know how its that good, maybe because it came out really hot!
Excellent ramen and a lovely fresh California roll. Service was so sweet. They even brought out a stand for my partner’s purse, so it wouldn’t get dirty. Hey h and kudos for the jazz music, something so many restaurants fall short on. Highly recommend them!
The place is cute. The food is good, though I wish the standard ramen had more layers to it (maybe add an egg or piece of seaweed). They have outdoor and indoor seating, and it's not busy.
Rude staff, we were sitting there for less than an hour and they literally took away our half eaten plates without warning because they were about to close
Good ramen, edamame, and cheese sticks! I loved the salty, garlicky flavor of the edamame. We got a tuna sushi roll and it was average. This location does not have the special Tatsunoya roll. Plenty of parking and great service.
Ramen was pretty good and flavorful. The service was also good. I would recommend paying more and getting the extra meat cuz they only put 2 pieces in the regular one. The waitress kept checking up on us and made sure we enjoyed our food. They play nice music too so there’s good vibes. Will return next time!
I stopped by here randomly and it’s the best ramen I’ve had in the area! I got the koku tonkotsu and it was delicious. The char siu was so tender and flavorful. Would recommend!
Perfect location in Silverlake for a ramen spot. They have easy parking in the back and there was no issue getting a table. We both got ramen bowls and a starter of gyoza which was all delicious. Sitting in the front patio around sunset with good food was the perfect end to my day. I'm giving four stars because our service was a little non existent. Our waiter never came back after dropping off the food to give us drink refills. After our food the last interaction with him was when we received the check. Other than that, the spot is awesome and i'll be back for more ramen.
Awesome restaurant I loved the ramen and the takoyaki very impressive service and the wait time was not long. Pretty affordable and overall great place.
I called in advance around 9: 20 to see if we were allowed to dine since they closed at 10 PM. They hesitated a bit, but we said we were 1 min from another ramen place at the corner. Arrived at a park in the front; they also have spacious parking in the back.
Staff are friendly, and the restaurant looks decent and has in & outdoor seating!
I ordered Spicy Miso Extra Chasu, $20.3 comes with thick noodles and added a $2 egg, and my Japanese friend ordered a Koku Extra Chasu, $19.8, with thin noodles and added a $2 egg. The flavored eggs were ok.
The price is higher than elsewhere in the Silverlake area, around $2-3 but offers more meats; however, the broth did not impress us when we tasted it. Also, a lot of thick fat was swimming around in the broth, and the meat was initially fat without being grilled/fried/ marinated, which made the whole feeling become fatty and feel like the fat touched my tongue every time I consumed the broth.
We enjoyed the service, the views, and the weather, but to have the itch of waiting to return to dine from Beverly Hills might be a low chance.
Some of the best ramen in silverlake.
One key thing I look out for at good ramen places is a smaller menu. Ramen Tatsunoya consistently has 4-5 options, and each one is quality.
My favorite is the Spicy Miso Tonkatsu, it isn't too spicy, and one of the most amazing things Tatsunoya is how perfectly brined and juicy the pork is. The thick noodles are incredibly tasty too. I wish that the seasoned egg was included but unfortunately it's an extra cost.
The atmosphere isn't anything too much to rave about, they do have a decent happy hour, but I think it's a great place for take-out.
